Overall Satisfaction with Miro

My organization uses Miro as a collaboration tool across teams and individuals. It works as an online workspace where we can all get our notes down and see the opinions and thoughts of others. The product addresses problems of getting individuals engaged in the work that you are doing because it allows everyone to share their perspectives. It's also a fun, interactive environment which makes team members more likely to share.

Pros

  • Interactivity
  • Elements like emojis, timers, and voting that make collaboration fun
  • Ease of use- post it notes are easy to understand and explain to people because they translate to a real world object

Cons

  • Instruction guide for first-time users or those who are new to collaborative visual software that may have to use it from other kinds of technical or business teams
  • More emphasis on what you can do with this software outside of just making plans, notes, or diagrams
  • Explanations of the diagram templates and what each of them does because some users might not know what the names for each diagram mean because they use specialized business/technical terms
  • Improved productivity
  • Increased engagement
  • Increased number of ideas developed/brainstormed
It has allowed my organization to collaborate like we are in the same room together even if we are states/countries apart. It brings collaborative aspects to teams and people who may feel disconnected because they are apart. It allows us to devote ourselves to the development of new projects because we are not worried about trying to figure out the mechanics of making people's different locations and schedules work.
I like Miro a lot because it focuses on collaboration and using it as a tool for ideation. Figma I see more as a design tool that can also be used so that others can make comments on your work. FigJam is close to Miro but you do have to pay for the tool which is a disadvantage. Google Jamboard I have only used in an educational setting so I am not sure if it is available or known by business teams.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

The best scenario where Miro is best suited is when you are working with design teams. As a designer I love using Miro to collaborate with others on a design team and have images of my designs for my colleagues to review and make notes all over and highlight specific things because it makes me focus on errors or things I may have missed in my work. I also like using Miro to take notes on things with a team or try to brainstorm ideas for a project. Scenarios where it is less appropriate I would say are on very formal/serious projects/teams who may not be used to something like this.
