Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro heavily during the discovery process for new initiatives as a single place to store all associated notes. This is useful for mind maps, journey maps, solution architecture diagrams, and more. This also becomes the one-stop shop for all things to do with an initiative. Then, once discovery is made, we also use Miro to help the developers visualize where stories fit into the architecture, support things like story breakdown and estimation sessions, leverage Jira integrations to quickly get this into the pipeline, and keep an up-to-date diagram.
Pros
- Diagramming
- Jira integration.
- Mind Mapping.
Cons
- Tables are a pain.
- The Jira Ticket visual is too complex.
- Load times can be slow if there are too many images.
- Presentations are clunky.
- Animations don't work well.
- Timer music gets old quickly.
- Improved productivity.
- Improved collaboration.
- More accessible knowledge sharing.
Miro has enabled the team to collaborate with interstate and international teams across various timezones. This has allowed the teams to: - see what has been updated - tag relevant people to specific sections - provide feedback and comments on things - and share links to specific sections of a board.
Compared to tools like Notion and Confluence, Miro provides a far greater level of flexibility with the way visuals can be organized. This allows notes to be organized in a mind map style for easy association. However, this flexibility in visualization results in a lack of organization, with no hierarchy of information.
