Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro in a collaberative canvas fashion to plan out various initiatives and track the status of projects in flight. It has many more features than what we use but the navigation is user friendly and allows us to work with partners who are outside our organization. The visual display is also appealing for presentation purposes.

Pros

  • Collaboration
  • Scalability
  • Versatility

Cons

  • Performance slows down the more you have on 1 board.
  • Ability to copy group elements. If you are trying to follow someone else's design, sometimes it's hard to figure out how they created the other parts.
  • Email notification doesn't work when I'm tagged so I don't know what's new until I visit the board or someone else tells me.
  • Visibility for all team members.
  • Release planning for upcoming months.
  • Progression tracking and status updates.
Enterprise firewalls make it difficult to effectively collaborate with those outside of the company so having a tool like Miro allowed us to inform, plan, and execute without having to exclusively rely on emails. Most people absorb information visually in chunks and Miro helps to accomplish this in a simple manner.
Miro has more functions and it's easier to navigate around on. Ultimately the company decides the most cost effective tool for us to use and that appears to be Mural. I personally use EasyRetro because it is simple, has a free option, and anyone can join without any complex signup process.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Great platform but a lot of options and performance slows down when you have too much. Some people just prefer simple tools. When we were transitioning from using an vendor to developing a product in-house, this platform went a long way to facilitate collaboration. Definitely a great tool if you have people who are unable to work within your company accesses.
