Overall Satisfaction with Gusto
I am a small business employee, and I use Gusto for my payroll information and all HR-related inquiries, including our time off approvals/requests and 30-60-90 feedback processes.
Pros
- Mobile app -> It is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. It also has small quirks that make it feel warm (the "happy payday" messages, etc.).
- The time off process is relatively simple for employees—seeing where it is in the approval process and being able to follow up via the Gusto portal is very easy.
- Pay process: Everything from the estimate, YTD totals, and paystub details are in one place, easy to find, and easy to navigate.
Cons
- Right now, we get paid by 5 PM on Friday. Early pay (without the use of Gusto's Direct Deposit) would be better, even if it's just by 12 PM.
- Notifications on the mobile app - could be better/more personalized (Manage notifications options for more stuff like payday, paid time off approvals, etc.)
- Customize option for the landing/home page based on my account/needs.
- Employee's being happier with more structured processes (as a prior startup).
- N/A because new employee/non C-Suite level.
Gusto is 100% better than Deltek Costpoint, a system I used at my last job for four years. Especially on the usability, it's easier to navigate and overall just easier on the eyes. Gusto had tutorials when I was first figuring it out, which helped, but Deltek's didn't help much.
