Overall Satisfaction with Duo Security

Duo Security is used in our company as an additional step of identify verification.
With remote working we needed a reliable solution with proven experience in security.
We chose Duo because it is owned by Cisco and they offer:
1. Good security
2. Fast replies on support requests
3. Reliable service

Pros

Cons

  • Mobile app sometimes needs to be re-registered.
  • Push notifications stop to work from time to time.
  • Stability - The service is very stable.
  • Client oriented - Duo team provided free licenses when we needed.
Easy to use from both sides: IT and Employees.
A lot of documentation and prompt support when needed.
Employees get used to the solution and they know already how to use it.
As IT, easy to implement and easy to manage.
The only thing is that the "Registration" text notifications cannot be customized based on company's profile.
Depending on your Priority, Duo support team will try to provide an SLA for what to expect.
Even with that they have in place a "Service Status" page where you can refer and act accordingly.
Overall, they try to respect the SLAs and are very helpful regardless if this is a technical issue or just a question
We had a region, situated in Europe, where a specific client was not able to register the application through the link provided. Duo team helped us to trace and see if the client made a connection form that endpoint to their service.
The conclusion was that the local mobile provider did block those requests.
FortiClient, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
Duo Security can be used with multiple vendors:
1. Palo Alto
2. Microsoft
3. Fortinet
We are using it to verify the identity of our employees when they connect to the VPN. Works really well.
The service is really good, but it depends of the budget of each company. [It] can easy reduce the headache of an IT team.
