Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce

We implemented BigCommerce for our online products sales, upgrading from a legacy platform. BigCommerce allowed us to link our online sales to our accounting software. We used some of the 3rd part shipping solutions for shipping within BigCommerce which greatly simplified our shipping processes and reduced having to manually do work related to shipping (no more copy and pasting).

Pros

  • Multi Store front
  • Implementing Online Tax Codes per product
  • Importing and exporting products

Cons

  • Muti Store front comes through all one channel order wise, this can get tricky accounting wise
  • Some imports, like Tax Codes, can only be implemented via API
  • Our shipping has been vastly streamlined when using BigCommerce
  • 3rd party plugins have been great
BigCommerce is very scalable, they have 100 million dollar companies that use the platform. 3rd party plugins, apps, feeds, and all sorts of integrations is super strong and very robust. Direct integration with Quickbooks makes it a no brainer in most cases.
BigCommerce had a much strong B2B integration and platform in general than Shopify. Netsuite was too expensive at the time to considering it.

BigCommerce is suitable for most ecommerce sites as the base platform allows you to sell online and is very robust. The variety of 3rd party plugins and add in is very strong. I would say if your looking for an all in one platform, the inventory aspect can be a weak point if your say selling packages that contain individual sellable items, those cannot be tracked.
