Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We were told that Avalara can do what we needed it to do but after the purchase we spent a year talking to their support and no one could help us. Turns out we dont even need to use this platform. Cancelling was a nightmare.

  • We spent $6500 before cancelling and now they are charging us another $1,883.84 because cancellation takes 30 - 60 days and our 36 day notice was not enough apparently.
  • We were unable to remove our credit card information from the platform to force us to continue paying for another 3 months.
It is not much different than using a spreadsheet. Lots of manual work required. At least based on the little training we received. Albeit the person training me seemed to know less about the platform than I did.
In my opinion, not an ethical company and I would not recommend it
