Overall Satisfaction with Automox
We use Automox to manage Windows devices and ensure they all have the required software such as antivirus as well as all updates. We use Automox in tandem with Intune to offer better remote device control as well as third party patching without manual intervention from IT. Intune allows us to start a zero touch deployment but Automox allows the device to be more managed as far as patching and software goes. It is much more user/admin friendly than Intune.
Pros
- Set it and forget it patching
- Required software installations
- Device asset inventory collection
- Custom script deployment
- Community knowledge base and script/worklet samples
Cons
- Logging could be easier to navigate. if I want to see what a task did on a device, I need to go to the task and then look at the audit logs. It would be nice to just be able to click a results button on the worklet/policy/task in the Associated Policies section of a device.
- Being able to respond to vulnerabilities in software has been a huge plus.
- The Automox API has let us link to our Jira asset inventory and get great insights from one pane of glass.
- Not having to stress about updates is very relieving.
- Being able to customize restart notifications and offer snooze options is a HUGE plus for an org that has never had forced updates or restarts.
Automox lets us control so much more and makes it incredibly easy to target very specific devices for very specific actions. it is also incredibly reliable and I know it will patch as expected with very minimal monitoring. Automox has been the most stable of all the tools I have used and evaluated.
