Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We have a grant service where we need to constantly monitor it, so that we can provide the beneficiaries with the help they need in a timely manner. This software has made it easy for us to manage documents and applications and track grants.
Pros
- It allows us to quickly perform all the management of grant payments and to monitor the entire process, from the application to the payments.
- Its technical support is always of great help with any concerns that we need to solve.
- All the integrations that are made are very useful and have helped us to manage the whole system more efficiently.
Cons
- It has a fairly high learning curve, but the technical staff has been able to support us at all times explaining every detail and tool of the system.
- Its interface can be confusing for some people and not very intuitive. It can be overwhelming in many occasions, slowing down the learning curve even more.
- Installing the software was not an easy task, but once again, the technical team was able to help solve that problem.

- It has very functional administrative integrations to make the software run much more efficiently.
- Their technical support is second to none, very friendly and always ready to solve problems.
- The management of grant applications, monitoring and payments is done efficiently and without errors.
Return on Investment
- This software, although it can have a steep learning curve, is also very necessary for the entire grant application and submission process to be carried out in an orderly and efficient manner. The hours spent on this process with the software are significantly less than when it was done manually.
Is WizeHive Zengine worth it?
Pros
- Grant application management can be daunting, but Zengine makes it a lot easier.
- Combining the grant application, review process, and final reporting process in one portal is a huge convenience!
Cons
- With our applicants being a specific and specialized group, we needed customized functions to ensure that only those who were eligible for our grants were able to begin the application process. For this custom functionality, Zengine charges extra, many times a significant amount extra, whereas I feel a functionality such as this should be integrated into the platform as standard.
Return on Investment
- Zengine is definitely a time-saver, but there are a myriad of grant management software platforms on the market that save just as much time, some even more time-saving. But if you have a basic need to offer an application process of any sort (grant, scholarship, etc.) to the public, Zengine can be very helpful in saving time and keeping everything related to the grant handy in one location, and all connected (application, reviews, final reports, etc.).

The best system for both front end user and back end staff satisfaction. Best decision we made all year!
Pros
- It has made the application, which is almost identical to the application questions previously displayed by our old service, seem less daunting and more user friendly to grant applicants.
- The grant review team has exclaimed that the side-by-side review option is the best feature ever invented and has saved them loads of paper.
- Internally, I appreciate the ease of use of the back end system. Being able to easily assign grants to reviews both in and outside the organization, easily create queries for the stats I need, and the ability to move application through the steps of the system seamlessly make this my top choice since I'm the only staff member dedicated to the Foundation which leaves me with lots on my plate to balance.
Cons
- I haven't found any yet. At this point, I'm thrilled with each of the features and the ease of use of the system.

- The ability to only pay for the features we needed for a system that is easy to use by all is considered a perfect ROI for selected WizeHive Zengine.

- It's messy- we can only apply a question to a certain amount of applications so we have 2-3 of a lot of questions
- The affiliate directors can't export an excel file from their dashboard
- If a question changes or becomes required or not required it impacts all past applications
