Webex App serves as a central platform for communication and collaboration, addressing challenges in hybrid work environments for both internal teams and external client interactions. In TrustRadius reviews, it is widely used for daily operations, facilitating video conferencing, online meetings, calls, and chat. Reviewers frequently commend its comprehensive meeting functionalities, including robust calling and screen sharing, with 50% highlighting these capabilities.
While the platform enhances productivity and offers significant cost reductions by supporting remote work, some reviewers report performance issues, including sluggishness and high resource consumption during video calls, a concern for 36% of users. Other noted drawbacks include a cluttered user interface and challenges with third-party integrations. Overall, reviewers find Webex App to be a critical tool for maintaining seamless communication and enabling real-time collaboration, despite areas for user experience refinement.
Pros
Comprehensive meeting functionalities including robust calling, screen sharing, video, chat, and recording.
High audio and video quality for a seamless meeting experience.
Cross-platform accessibility across various devices and operating systems.
Enterprise-grade security features, compliance, and multi-authentication options.
Interactive whiteboarding tools for shared content creation and real-time interaction.
Cons
Sluggish performance, lag, and high resource consumption, especially during video calls.
Requires substantial bandwidth, leading to degraded performance on unstable networks.
User interface is perceived as cluttered, unintuitive, or clunky.
Challenges with third-party integrations and broader interoperability.
Mobile app experience is less intuitive or clunky compared to its desktop counterpart.
We use Webex as our video and chat tool for internal and between government parties. We also have arround 3000 Webex boards for hybrid meetings in our building. Currently we have 123k users
Pros
Spaces
Chat
Noice reduction
Cons
Features from Webex meeting into the Webex app
Integration with M365
Connecting from the Webex app into personal Webex rooms
Likelihood to Recommend
Less when collaboration arrround documents is needed (they live in M365), well suited for large amounts of spaces and to keep in contact with a lot of teams and persons. Easy to start a one on one meeting or join a space meeting , harder to join a personal space meeting or plan a space meeting
Jabber is helpful to connect me with my colleagues in different offices. It improves productivity by increasing communication speed and reducing email volume.
Pros
Emojis :)
Groups to create a “chat room” with a group of colleagues
Quick communication
Cons
On-the-fly group messaging (vs establishing a group)
Default video for computer calls (should be off on default)
Screen sharing is glitchy
Likelihood to Recommend
Best suited: quick communication with colleagues, screen share, remote calling/telecommuting, video conference. A good replacement for 1-2 sentence emails or stopping by a colleague’s office when that is not possible. Also good when on a call together and need to have a sidebar conversation. Good to leave a quick note when a colleague is away from their desk
Worst suited: group conversations, long communications, sharing documents or attachments. Does not replace meetings or in-person conversations completely.
My organization uses Cisco Jabber as its primary messaging platform alongside Microsoft Teams. The Cisco Jabber is also used in conjunction with the Cisco physical phone system, allowing all users to make and receive calls both internal and external to the organization via their computers. This latter usage has been invaluable during the lockdown as it has allowed users to make landline calls while away from their phone systems.
Pros
Easy to call internal and external contacts
Dock icon that easily shows new messages
Easy to access message history
Cons
The emojis look like they are from the early 2000s
Would be nice to be able to plan meetings straight from the chat
The notification dock is great, but it would be nice to monitor how many messages per conversation are new.
Managing audio devices can be difficult, and may change to unwanted settings when swapping between devices. Jabber will sometimes default input and output devices to my laptop when I would prefer this to be all through my headset.
Likelihood to Recommend
Cisco Jabber is extremely useful as an all-in-one messaging platform, especially if you require the ability to make phone calls. Prior to Cisco jabber, working from home meant forwarding all calls to my mobile phone. Now, I can easily take calls through my laptop (and can still forward calls if necessary). Jabber also has an easy to way share screen captures within chats. I consider the phone calls to be the biggest improvement of its direct competitor, Skype For Business. However, Skype for Business allows for VOIP calls with video, and the ability to share control. This loss of functionality is not an issue for my organization, as we run Jabber alongside Microsoft Teams, which has the ability to video control, screen share, and control share.
It is currently being used primarily in IT. However, we are evaluating it for further use in the business. The Webex App primarily addresses the need for chatting between users. However, we have enjoyed the fact that it is the single application that can also launch Webex Meetings which is a company wide used application.
Pros
Realtime chat for company users.
Realtime alerts for subscribed spaces.
Launching Webex Meetings.
Cons
More feature compatibility with legacy applications like Jabber.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for individuals who need real-time chat that is cloud based. Messages are readily available at all times, even when not on company premises. I can't think of any examples of a time when the Webex application would not be suited for a business as it is very robust and feature rich.

We use it throughout the organization for communication and meetings. It solves the problem of communicating with different organizations without having to travel across the country and holding meetings without face-to-face contact.
Pros
Easy to use.
Nice to administrate.
Make conferences simple.
Cons
Teams handling (to complicated for users).
Better moderation options.
Better introductions for users.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited: normal companies (has everything you need). Less appropriate: Schools and universities (less functions for education and difficult to handle).
Team communication, policy rollouts, voice and text communication throughout the organization, IT support.
Pros
Voice calls
Text messaging
Content sharing
Cons
Video calls
Video conferencing
Task management
Likelihood to Recommend
[It is] suited for large teams and distributed organizations. Ideal for virtual employees. It can be used to monitor virtual employees' attentiveness, focus on tasks, and availability to work.
