Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We recently just converted from landlines to Webex. I am on the admin team and first point of contact for outside callers. I have enjoyed being able to transfer callers easily. I am also a fan of how it will notify me of a call if I lock my computer. One of the issues with landlines, is it would be hard to do follow-up calls with landlines but with Webex I am able to call from other locations. It does seem similar to teams which helps with the learning process.

Pros

  • Transfers
  • Caller recognition
  • voicemails
  • phone history

Cons

  • showing who's phone is active
  • setting up an automated voicemail
  • I may have to keep looking but a chat option between team members

Likelihood to Recommend

I am still getting use to Webex and what it holds. I have really enjoyed the ease of answering calls. It also helps that I am able to answer calls wherever I am. For the office it has helped direct calls. Before we used extensions on the landlines and it was never a guarantee the call would connect. But with this I haven't had that issue. I think it would help to know when others are active or online.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Great help in performing daily tasks through screen sharing. It helps us communicate more efficiently with third parties. It has also helped us improve our communications. Users are familiar with the platform. Now we can have a quick and efficient online meeting. It solves a huge inaccessibility problem. Thanks to this platform, I have been able to easily collaborate with colleagues from all over the world.

Pros

  • Share screen
  • Excellent image and sound quality
  • Amazing user interface

Cons

  • I would like to see SMS notification options
  • I would like to have a better screen recording
  • Should have a better notification system

Likelihood to Recommend

It is not limited only to video conferencing but also has chat tools. The Webex App platform offers maximum data security by providing us with a communication platform. Use Cases and Deployment Scope

During and after the Covid-19 situation, we faced a lack of communication with our teams at different sites (location), zoom and other tools were used to make some following and retraining, but we needed a communication tool that allows us to get in contact with our teams in an easy and fast way.

Pros

  • Chat
  • Voice messages
  • Video
  • File Transfer

Cons

  • Not running in older versions of Windows.

Likelihood to Recommend

Communication issues that we presented using Zoom, Cisco Jabber has more capabilities and is easy to communicate. And We do not find a real issue (besides the old windows version that we got for the old program version running).

Must app for corporate meetings

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Using it for Intra department meetings .. makes the meetings easier while sharing [content] and using [the] chat box option. Also, the emoticons [are] a plus to this tool (of course my favorite one). Didn't find any lag given you have the appropriate internet connection/speed. Would definitely like to recommend others [use] this tool as it's a must for corporate meetings.

Pros

  • Sharing contents
  • Emoticons
  • Chat box

Cons

  • Status options would be nice.
  • Paint option while sharing.
  • More backgrounds.

Likelihood to Recommend

Everything is perfect. Just need [a] few additional features like status options etc.

Webex provides a good meeting experience

Rating: 5 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using it in an ad-hoc manner. Different departments have the ability to use different software. Depending on the needs, or who they are trying to communicate with [they] have the ability to determine the best software for their needs. The use is on a department by department, or almost a user by user basis.

Pros

  • Video.
  • Call quality.
  • Visual appeal.

Cons

  • Layout is sometimes unintuitive.
  • Controls are not obvious at times.
  • Setup instructions are sometimes confusing for new users.

Likelihood to Recommend

Webex is like all the other video communications pieces of software out there. It generally works well and can be used for all types of situations. We use it where the client also uses it or has a preference for it. Or, if individuals are used to it they are free to use it as well. It works well where any meeting software is needed or if your clients are using the product.

Jab away with Cisco Jabber

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Conveniently use Cisco Jabber in lieu of desk phones for both local, national, and international calls. When connected to VPN, calls can be received and placed online via laptop so employees are able to stay in constant connection. Rings leave messages, all of which are available online so no need to be tied to a desk. Hands-free access and great for multi-tasking.

Pros

  • Ease of making/receiving calls via laptop.
  • Managing address book and call log.
  • Can remain logged in anytime you are online.

Cons

  • I haven't tried video calling in Jabber, since we also use Cisco Teams for con calls but I imagine these would work just as well.

Likelihood to Recommend

Cisco Jabber is cost-effective and can be used anywhere there is VPN access for ease of calls, access to messages, reviewing call logs, and for hands-free access where moving between locations is necessary. Larger and nationwide organizations would gain the most ROI due to greater collaboration between groups and personnel.

Jabber is a useful tool

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used as an inner office communication tool. It cuts down on emails and you can have a real-time conversation with colleagues while still working at your desk.

Pros

  • quick conversations
  • can tell when people are available or if they are on a call, away, or in a meeting.
  • can add participants to conversations
  • can add attachments to conversations

Cons

  • wish you were able to save conversations
  • would be nice to be able to delete conversations rather than reset all conversations
  • wish there were more emoticons

Likelihood to Recommend

Jabber is good for a quick conversation to get a question answered while still working at your desk. It's nice to be able to not get up from the desk when you're working on a tight deadline and need help from a colleague. It is quicker than email and doesn't clog up your inbox.

Jabbering Away on Cisco Jabber

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Jabber is currently being used by my whole organization as an internal instant messaging tool. It is helpful because it is tied to our phone services and we can see when someone is in a meeting or not without opening up Outlook. It also cuts down on the amount of emails we send since we can have real-time conversations about an issue or use it to answer quick questions that don't really need an email. It makes communication easier and more efficient.

Pros

  • It integrates phone services so that you can see who is calling and even dial using your computer. It also makes it easy to see missed calls and listen to voicemails through email/computer.
  • Connectivity: It helps answer simple questions quickly and stay in touch with remote employees.
  • Cuts down on the amount of emails sent each day which means that emails can be used for longer messages or ones that need attachments and it is easier to sift through emails and focus on important messages without the clutter of short messages/quick questions.

Cons

  • It would be great to be able to tie Jabber to additional phone lines other than my direct number so that voicemails could be received and answered more promptly and so that I can see missed calls or incoming calls on my computer to other lines that I answer.
  • It's hard to search for and add contacts to the chat function in Jabber.
  • The window indicating a new message appears at the top of the screen instead of at the bottom where I am used to seeing desktop notifications which can be difficult to adapt to.

Likelihood to Recommend

Jabber is great for organizations that have a number of remote workers (whether it's full-time or a few days a week) so that everyone can keep in touch more regularly than having to send numerous emails. It works really well for laptop/desktop computers, but I don't think it works well when traveling because it's more difficult to use when on the road. It also really works well if it is integrated with the organization's phone and calendar services. It loses its productivity if it's used only for instant messaging.
