We utilize Watchguard Authpoint for Multi-Factor Authentication for client sites to SSLVPN into their networks. Authpoint is a stress-free way to handle multi-factor authentication within the WatchGuard umbrella. Authpoint is perfect for our clients as we can trust the multi-factor authentication provided by the same vendor that supplies our firewalls.

We are still very happy with our WatchGuard AuthPoint vpn. We have five very active users on it and it works very well for these users. My WatchGuard AuthPoint is managed by my IT vendor, but it works very well for our staff when they must work remotely and securely. Rather seamless once set up properly.

Pros

Updates are not frustrating and while not invisible, not disruptive.

Cons

Could improve on reporting what kind of error is happening when login is wrong or account is having trouble with database, etc.

Return on Investment

It keeps me from having another network appliance to manage and patch when it is integrated into my firewall.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint as the Multi-Factor Authentication method for connecting to Forticlient VPN so our end users can connect to our network remotely to access company resources securely.

This is used by all our end users with little to no technical expertise. I've found the set up for Authpoint to be very easy for the average person to follow, and though I've created 'guides' to walk people through the process, they typically do not need it as WatchGuard AuthPoint does an excellent job at walking people through the process alone.

Cons

When adding a token, some people are confused by the 'token name'. A little blurb to say "This is just for your reference! You can make this the name of your company or the service that it provides MFA for" would be excellent.
I've had some people express confusion about the "red bar that keeps refilling and the 6-digit number that keeps changing". Some sort of statement to explain that would be great.
First-time use navigation - point out where the QR code scanning button is (I've managed to get a screenshot of the app to highlight it for our end users so they can find it easier).

Return on Investment

We manage 207 users in AuthPoint with ease. It's more expensive than using our Microsoft Authenticator, but having our VPN MFA separate from our other MFAs is a good security practice. Extra features and ease of use justifies the cost.
The app is small (less than 20MB), so it's easy to convince people that have space on their device for it
Works on both Android and iPhones. App looks virtually the same which makes it easy for me to assist people with setup if needed.

With todays work climate we not only work on location, but often remote. WatchGuard provides us a secure way of employees accessing sensitive work data under the saftey of WatchGuard. We worry less about security with WatchGuard and focus more of our time on work. Thank you WatchGuard, we are comforted that we know you have our backs.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint to act as the MFA tool for our business which allows our users who login to login securely and not have to worry about any security lapses that could potentially be very damaging to our business. The App is very straight forward and the pricing is just right.
