Veeam saves us every time.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Veeam Backup & Replication for all our business-critical backup requirements. The backups are quick and easy to restore, and I have trained new team members on restoration in just a few minutes.

Pros

  • SQL Database backups.
  • Backup Copies.
  • Data replication to a secondary data center.

Cons

  • The data access pause when backing up an SQL database could be improved.
  • Better integration to allow VMware data sources to replicate to Azure and not just copy.
  • Integrated off-site immutable backups.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is ideal for a dual data center environment, allowing for replication. Replication to Azure is an issue.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Well, we use it to perform backups of the servers in our Nutanix environment. We have about 200 servers that we run backups on.

Pros

  • Windows Server Backups
  • Instant file restore

Cons

  • Diagnostics using the Nutanix platform can be rough
  • Having to run a Veeam update, then log into the appliance to run the binary updates can be a pain
  • the errors I receive generally take a team of folks to interpret.

Likelihood to Recommend

In a Nutanix environment, the issues generally come down to overly vague errors, and the synthetic full backups not working properly. it would be much easier if I could compress the differentials into a full backup on-demand instead of making it as part of a job and never having it work. However, on the fli[p side, because everything is sitting in a hypervisor, instant restores are super easy and have saved my sanity a time or two.

Veeam Review.

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the Veeam data platform to back up our current virtual machines and file systems. It is key in our strategy as we have an offsite host to switch to in the event of problems. This is done efficiently with the software, and logs are generated to show possible problems. It allows us to have less stress in these specific situations.

Pros

  • It has effective logs when troubleshooting.
  • It cutover time and speed are better than the rest of the market.
  • It has a simple interface to use.

Cons

  • The ability to filter logs or add variables.
  • Simplifying the registration of a server to the service.
  • Allows locked rotation on a proxy host.

Likelihood to Recommend

Veeam is currently the correct use case as we are hybrid, with a 75 /25 split of on-premises servers to Azure cloud machines. Once that number starts to shift, the price and services provided in Azure will be too limited compared to other services.

Safeguarding Safety Data Effortlessly

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The experience of using Veeam Data Platform thus far in the safety and environmental data management scheme has been mostly positive. The general management from day to day is almost hassle free and any arising issue is easily pointed out by the automated monitoring system. The structure is well assembled and it is easy to find the specific backup of the safety records or an environmental compliance file should it be required.

Pros

  • Immutable Backup Architecture
  • Intelligent Recovery Verification
  • Integrated Security Ecosystem

Cons

  • The platform can be slow during large backup operations and is mostly acceptable during small backup operations.
  • Initial Configuration Complexity
  • Dashboard Customization Limitations

Likelihood to Recommend

In the case where data safety and environmental data are distributed between numerous systems, Veeam Data Platform excels. For example, when the client was backing up our large incident management database containing over 1000 specific safety records and other related documents, the company was able to provide consistent backup windows even when using Veeam Data Platform. It performs exceptionally well in disaster recovery.

Veeam Data Platform leads the industry

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam Data Platform for production backups, our long-term backups to DR site, and our offload to the cloud. The only real issues that we haven’t brought upon ourselves would be synchronization between on premise and the cloud.

Pros

  • Instant Recovery has many great use cases
  • Capacity tier offloads with immutability
  • License portability, remove license from protected workload and add back later if needed.

Cons

  • Support could be stronger on first touch. The need to escalate and wait has been experienced through the years. Reluctance to come “take a look” and the time it takes to gather logs is extensive.

Pros

  • Backup Physical and Virtual environments
  • do virtual replications.
  • additional tape backups

Cons

  • Support of SME storage solutions
  • Office365 backup
  • integrate onedrive storage

Likelihood to Recommend

For the solution we need Veeam Data Platform fit perfekt in our enviroment Virtual and physical base backup, virtual replication, migartion of VM+s between Hyper-V and VMWare, Tape Backup.

Accurate Backup of Critical Systems

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Backup of critical business technological systems like phone systems, data and application services, end-user workstations, etc.

Pros

  • Reliable and accurate bare-metal backups
  • Fast recovery of whole computers in case of corruption due to failures in the OS
  • Quick browsing and restore of backed up files

Cons

  • Getting started
  • Setup of backup repositories unless you're on a domain environment
  • License is expensive and you have to add the cost of cloud storage

Likelihood to Recommend

It is good to perform an image backup of application and data servers that are virtualized. The data being backed up is accurate, so you do not run into the issue that you think a backup is truthful; then, the backup contained all data which is useless for your customer. The restoration process is pretty fast.

Veeam Data Platform - I wouldn't trust my data with anyone else.

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage the infrastructure for a multi-location construction company. We use the Veeam Data Platform Backup and Replication software to backup our onsite point of sale and file share servers and high importance user machines to a centralized data server at our main office. The backed up data is then backed up again to an offsite server. We prefer to have an onsite solution and access to our backups for instances where the internet is not available. It can also be quicker to access this data locally than it would be to download it all from a cloud repository. When it comes to restoring a machine, Veeam Data Platform makes it easy and saves my department a ton of time. Also, the ability to pull only selected files is incredible, especially when users accidentally change, move, or delete files on the public file share.

Pros

  • Full machine restore from server
  • Guest file restoration
  • Ease of installation on the guest machine
  • Ease of connecting the guest machine to the server

Cons

  • The Backup and Replication program is a little slow to open on my server

Likelihood to Recommend

For my particular scenario, Data Platform is perfect. It backs up my companies important information to a local host that is easy to access when we need it, but also backs that up to an offsite location in the event of a major catastrophe. And the guest file restoration is a godsend for when users get a little over zealous and delete or change something they shouldn't have.

Veeam, the best backup software for your business, whether it's 6 servers or 600!

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I've used Veeam for over 13 years. I was first introduced to it while working for an MSP to backup all of the virtual machines for ourselves and our customers. I had previously been used to a very popular tape-based backup software and I couldn't believe the difference in technologies. When I moved from an MSP into the role of an IT Manager, the first software I introduced was Veeam for the physical infrastructure and eventually the virtualised infrastructure. It's easy to use and extremely reliable, every update brings better stability a new features as opposed to introducing bugs and issues.

Pros

  • Virtual machine backups
  • Instant recovery

Cons

  • Updating the software internally, rather than finding the external links, downloading etc

Likelihood to Recommend

I would recommend to anyone that is looking for fast, stable and reliable backups
