We use TeamViewer to connect with out tech team which is based in Cape town as currently we based in another state which is Gauteng. this platform makes it very easy when u get issues on our laptops that needs urgent attention and assistance from the tech and IT team to remotely connect to our PC's in order to troubleshoot any issue.
Pros
Remote access control
Cross platform compatibilty
Security Encryption
24/7 unattended access
Cons
easier transfer & sharing
Likelihood to Recommend
TeamViewer is less appropriate for team meetings and standups. however its more appropriate for File Transfering and sharing while remotely connected to simply easily drag and drop files. It is also appropriate as it has an easy chat function and video call function that you can use while your team mate is connected.
It has become very difficult to operate without using TeamViewer for remotely accessing the machines on the production floor and IT assets that are located in different places. This has provided our operations team with a means to use PLC-connected workstations, check on production KPI, and tackle software or hardware problems as they arise to avoid costly setbacks.
Pros
The current work-specific advantage based on user feedback indicates that TeamViewer proved to be excellent in meeting the specific need of engineers whose hardware is situated on the factory floor yet they need to connect to their workstation remotely.
Such benefits as management of bid access to system control allowing for remote control of system without physical presence, patch installation, and ultimate solutions to arising software problems are outstanding.
It also has logging and audit trail to support compliance reporting and internal paperwork.
Cons
One of the specific development directions is to increase the performance when the system is connected to the industrial automation software like SCADA or CNC control platforms.
These systems require high programmable responsiveness, and may feel slightly less responsive during rush-time milling in our factory through TeamViewer. An option to designate system resources that must be fastest when such sessions are running would be useful.

TeamViewer is especially useful to organizations with multiple branches that have production floors in different locations. It cuts costs on the physical travelling and enables interaction with issues on the ground in real-time. Nevertheless, companies with air-gapped or restricted systems can encounter many security or policy-related integration challenges.
We use TeamViewer in our company for remote IT support. With TeamViewer, we can connect to the user device remotely and identify and resolve system-related issues instantly. Instead of being physically present, we can perform regular tasks remotely, like software installation and updates, training sessions, etc.
Pros
It lets you connect to the user device remotely and identify & resolve system-related issues instantly.
With advanced features, it provides you greater control over remote session.
It is compatible with multiple OS platforms.
Cons
It costs you little bit higher than other solutions.
Vulnerable if credentials are shared with an unauthorized person carelessly.

It is an appropriate solution for every type of business. Whether you are individual, professional, student, or an organization, it is a best remote support solution for you. Anyone without technical knowledge can use it easily. It comes with great advanced features that provide you with greater control over remote sessions than any other tool.
TeamViewer is an application that has given us the opportunity to do remote work, in our offices we do not have a technical support department for the user and with this app we only have to indicate the fault that we are experiencing and the technical support connects to our computers and solves the problem in a matter of minutes, it is an application that does not weigh down the computer and also in my case when I cannot go to the office from my home from my PC I can access my equipment in the office and work normally, it makes remote work much easier, it solves the problem of having to go to the office when at least here in my country they have transport strikes then we can work from home and there is no problem, it is really very easy to use and once you have logged in everything is much simpler, it has no complications or well I personally have not found great complications, for me it is a success and I would not know how we would have worked without it, the coolest thing is that I can pass documents between computers without problems
Pros
I can pass documents between computers without problems
I can access my equipment in the office and work normally
the technical support connects to our computers and solves the problem in a matter of minutes
I can access my work computer from anywhere
Cons
It would be great if you had a detailed training program for new users, since it was difficult for me to learn how to use the application.
Enhancing file transfer features with a more intuitive UI, faster transfer speeds, drag-and-drop support, and a file queue system
Making the mobile app more feature complete and user friendly
Likelihood to Recommend
It is appropriate for remote work, checking computers for technical service, sending and receiving documentation remotely, it would be less appropriate for people who are just starting to use the application since although it is not super complicated to use, a little prior training is needed to be able to use it fully, but despite this, it is a good tool to be able to work remotely without having to go to the offices.

It seems uncertain at times how we can use the same account on both ends.
Leave out the advertising.

Teamviewer can be a learning curve when it comes to security and passwords. It can take some time to figure out how to keep the password persistent. This is necessary for shared machines. Some companies frown on VNC when using TeamViewer for training activities. This can be a challenge when trainees are dialing in from India.

It is well suited for almost all types of organizations whether it is small, medium or large scale. Even it is best remote access solution for individual also. For large organization you can use TeamViewer AD connector to create and set up TeamViewer accounts easily via Active directory. This will help you to save your valuable time.
In my work, we have certain clients that we do not have a VPN into their systems, and in these cases, the preferred method is TeamViewer. Its much more responsive and a bonus feature is that it lets you view both screens if the client has multiple monitors. I have also found this to be a very effective free version as well, but the paid version does offer a few more features. But the simple fact that the name is so well known makes everyone feel comfortable with it. Im very happy with it.
Pros
Multiple Monitors
Secure
Responsive
Easy to use
Cons
Less money
More support for free users
multiple sessions at once

We have a customer that we support that the admin assistant will not allow unattended access, but they are always with the machine when they call in needing assistance. Its very well suited for logging into the client machine when they know you're coming in and you can actually kind of train the customer on how to help themselves. Because they can watch your every move. It can also be beneficial if the customer has trust issues or just simply wants to watch. On the flip side, they can see what you're doing, so if there are any trade secrets you don’t want exposed as you work within a customers database or proprietary program you use, you might not want to use this. Additionally, there is a bit of added pressure when the customer is watching you to make sure you don’t do stupid stuff like fumble your way through a directory or something.
This is a great solution for IT support in a hybrid work world.
With Covid, if I go down so did support, also with users being remote with Covid or because of the Hybrid work model, it created disadvantages with being able to work on a computer while remote.
I am able to now connect to computers from anywhere and assist as if I am onsite. Which is ideal for remote and especially if required Admin approval, as some RDP softwares do not allow for that.
Pros
Allows for remote admin support
Allows access to all utilities
Allows great view of systems
Cons
Not always requiring for passwords
Allowing trusted devices
Multi screen view
Likelihood to Recommend
Great when working remote, having employees working remote and requiring assistance from IT
Great for giving admin approval for functions while remote or employee remote
Not great when trying to work with multiple people or multiple screens
We have had 2 use cases for TeamViewer in the past and at present. We use it for tech support to share the screens our users see and to perform routine support tasks with them, ranging from authoring installations of applications to troubleshooting application issues and configurations. We also use it to allow users to access their computers remotely, so they can work just as they do at their desks without internal systems in a safe and familiar manner, with a straightforward means.
Pros
Shares multiple remote displays
Allows remote access and direct interaction with the remote desktop
Allows for unattended access
Can allow Windows logins
Can be set to start (or Not) with operating system
Works on Macs and Windows
Has uses on tablets as well as phones
Cons
Licensing is unnecessarily convoluted per user
Licenses are very expensive
Using it through an RMM service can be troublesome.
Likelihood to Recommend
If used solely for tech support teams it can be a great tool, with the limitation of how many techs can be in it at a time, as they sell "Channels" and will only allow the login of one user per channel at a time. While the cost is high, it can be a very useful tool. It gets messy when you want to use it for all your users to remote into their work computers, however, and also the "free" version of the license doesn't always seem to handshake with the licensed version consistently. So you install it on a hundred computers- but they all must use either the very limited Host version, or a licensed copy, because after you connect from support to their computer it nags you about playing "Fair". If you have users create their own TeamViewer account you can avoid this, except for the often arising issue of being cut off in the middle of a session for not "playing fair", even though you are fully licensed (at over $1400 a year no less).
