Smartwaiver for speedy checkins

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Smartwaiver at check in and to screen our participants. It allows us the required waiver protection our insurance companies require and also allows us to screen out any possible medical conflicts that would create an unsafe situation for our clients. We have a variety of types of waivers depending on the experience. It helps that we can customize our waivers for the experience the client is applying to participate in.

Pros

  • Smartwaiver will help create a waiver for you.
  • Smartwaiver will integrate with your CRM.
  • Smartwaiver customer service is prompt and timely.

Cons

  • Smartwaiver has bulk waiver buying plans and you have to be able to forecast your needs. During the pandemic this was impossible.
  • Smartwaiver allows you to buy waivers in bulk but If you do not use them up after the allotted time you lose them and have to buy again. This subscription model was not made clear to me when I first signed up and we always used our waivers up but during the pandemic we were told that over 80% of our unused waivers had expired and we had to re up. When I explained we were closed for 75% of the year by government order they did give me a 3 month extension but I will still have purchased 50% too many waivers. Seems like there should be a pay-as-you-go option.

Likelihood to Recommend

Smartwaiver is well suited for activities where the client can check in before the activity and pre sign a waiver. This speeds the actual check in process and allows everyone to get out having fun instead of dealing with paperwork. If the activity is complex then the waiver is well suited to screen out candidates that do not meet the fitness level OR require them to get a doctor's note.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Smartwaiver daily for each guest that participates. The office will get our tablets set up with the guest's information prior to their arrival. We simply point their tablet, give three step instructions and they are done. We've eliminated paper waivers and significantly reduced the amount of paper we use in general. It has also assisted with storage. We no longer have to store paper waivers in boxes all over our offices.

Pros

  • integrates with our reservation system. We can connect Fareharbor and assign waivers to each group and they populate in the reservation.
  • Smartwaiver collects each guests email address and populates it into our Fareharbor system allowing us to connect w/ each guest that joined us not just the guest who set up the reservation
  • Waiver searching is very simple with Smartwaiver. We can search by name or email and the guests information pulls up for quick search.

Cons

  • We accept the waiver in the office once it's been completed. there is sometimes a 2 step process to "accept" the waiver which can be time consuming when you have 20 to accept.
  • the only issue we have is when we have internet issues, but that's not a smartwaiver issue
  • and you can't fix "stupid" - the Smartwaiver process is super simple but people choose not to read or follow simple instructions

Likelihood to Recommend

Smartwaiver is well suited for any service that requires a liability waiver be completed. I appreciate the ease of use when completing the waiver, the reduction in storage both prior and post waiver and the ability to have it in multiple languages. We currently have spanish and french as well on our tablets.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Smartwaiver is being used to manage all of our customers and their access to the shooting range, training, and unarmed classes. It solves the issue of manually finding if a person has/has not signed a waiver and in the event we would ever need to find a waiver quickly it is all there saved on their database, and backed up to a drive on our side. Customers can also sign it online and make things faster in the store.

Pros

  • Quick, easy and fast to train new employees on.
  • Customers find it easy to do both in the store and online.
  • You can set the waivers to expire in case there is a rule change, or if it has been too long since they signed before.
  • The waivers expire when a minor turns 18 and will let you know that they need to sign again.

Cons

  • Limit to some fields.
  • The YouTube embedding requires you to call support.
  • Requires an internet connection (sometimes the wifi would go out).

Likelihood to Recommend

I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone looking to ditch the paper and pen and save space/time/money.
