I highly recommend the use of Slack to those looking for an ideal and efficient platform for seamless team communication and collaboration.
I use Slack to keep track of our project status. It has been helpful that it can give us a real-time response. Also I can setup a group conversation regarding the project status.
Pros
Easy to send messages
Responses from the other people on the project shows up quickly.
Can maintain and update new users to a group conversation.
Cons
If LAN or WiFi Network is down, be able to save messages in a queue.
If there are employees with duplicate names a method to distinguish who is who.
An easier way to attach files or logs from a WiFi prototype device.

Ideally it is easier to use then constantly sending SMS messages to one another.
We use Slack for our business every single day. It is the main hub for communication between us and our clients as well as internal communication. Slack is extremely helpful to keep tasks and projects organized as well as service central location for communication both within our team and with external people.
Pros
Allows us to have a different channel for each individual company that we work with.
Has Canva section for project management and organization of tasks.
Cons
Easier search functionality to find past messages
More condensed user interface for those that need to have a lot of channels.

Slack is one of the best tools for companies that like to communicate with many people and throughout the day. It is a better solution to email and provide provides a very simple on boarding experience. Anyone knows how to use the tool. Especially companies that work with a lot of external people.

We used Slack as our internal comms platform, similar to how you would use Teams. It was great for instant messaging, project collaboration and coordination, and keeping our teams connected, particularly during periods like COVID. Slack was our primary messaging tool at a previous role.
Pros
Instant messaging
App and system integration
Organising teams, individuals and projects
Cons
At the time we found it difficult to delete full chat histories, but this might have improved
Notifications could sometimes be overwhelming
Mobile app could be a bit buggy
Sometimes issues with syncing

I think Slack is a great option for a business instant messaging app. I think it's as good as any of the others I have used. They all have their quirks, but if you're looking for a reliable and easy to use interface, Slack is a good option.

I use Slack with two clients. One uses Slack to help manage risk to requirements with integration to Jira. This is extremely useful and is easy to use. The set up is complicated. My other client uses this with an integration to Enlil eQMS. The client uses it for communication/collaboration.
Pros
Excellent communication tool. Makes finding and responding abreeze.
Integration with Jira is great and the interaction between the two is seamless
Invites to additional workspaces is helpful
Cons
More functionality (AI) for the Free account

Slack is great for communication and team tracking. It is difficult when others use Teams. I have not seen an integration with Microsoft team. That would be a plus.
We use it within our IT department along with select business leaders for project alignment, incident management, and general communication. It is particularly useful at keeping everyone in the loop as major updates are tied to automations that post to relevant channels and, in some cases, those posts allow for direct interaction such as approvals. getting input/feedback on general issues is handled really well inside text threads that also keep everything organized when a lot is going on at once.
Pros
Multi-threaded communication channels keep volatility more manageable.
The number of fairly seamless integrations that allow for a host of automated tasks and workflows.
Really responsive system in general with superb uptime/availability.
Cons
Not all integrations are as easy to implement, but never really sure who is “at fault” in most of those cases.
The Slack call feature feels unreliable, forcing us to continue using systems like Teams or Zoom.
Browser-based Slack will effectively timeout and stop sending notifications on certain browsers, likely due to the browser implementing memory conservation methods on less active tabs.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is phenomenal at leveraging good communication practices and assisting in places it can be difficult for a human to care enough about. Hopping between active text threads across the ecosystem is near seamless for us. Notifying the right people at the right time across multiple departments is a brief detour when handling multiple incidents at once. Searching for information on repeat issues is almost always time intensive, but Slack’s search functionality really helps there too. If set up properly (including your communication practices), it really goes out of its way to make life a lot simpler for everyone involved.

With Slack, our company has a place to communicate and easily share ideas. We can post and ask opinions about new projects, and brainstorm with other folks. It's a good channel for a company to post about upcoming events. It is also a place to unplug, share with your teammates, and have a little fun.
Pros
How easy is it to use.
The Design is intuitive.
Sharing information has never been easier.
Cons
The app for Windows can be better.
Uploading for a post sometimes fails.
The treads page sometimes is confusing.
Likelihood to Recommend
Slack is excellent for quick questions and getting in touch with a coworker about something. We can create groups for each department, allowing them to share information and access relevant resources. Slack is not ideal for official announcements, policy changes, or legal notices that require record-keeping and formal acknowledgment.

Effective communication for staff working in the office and remote. Working remote shouldn't be a disadvantage so to have the ability to chat to and instantly call people makes project work significantly easier. Adding on top of that the integrations with our tech stack, it makes collaboration and multi department work a smoother process.
Pros
Integration with software
Easy to use layout
Instant messaging for effective remote staff communication
Ability to message outside of hours without staff feeling they need to respond
Cons
Some of the reminders about words can be annoying
Message searching can be challenging
Finding media within chats
Accurate status of people you're messaging - whether they're online or not

We have a remote worker in Kosovo who has to work different hours due to the time difference and being freelance. He is able to log in to Slack as and when he needs to check messages and when it's outside of his working hours, notifications won't pop up to disturb his time outside of work. However, this sometimes has a drawback as there are times when he is working and doesn't get notified because Slack has turned off his notifications. Alongside that, the ability to integrate with our tech stack ensures that there is effective communication and updates when project statuses change.
We use Slack to communicate both internally and to external subjects, like customers. It's a more professional and polish way of communication than What's App, per example.
Pros
Nice design
Notifications
Integration with other softwares
Cons
Make it more customizable
Likelihood to Recommend
I think that Slack is the most powerful tool for managing internal communication between colleagues, because it's a separate tool that you can use just for professional purposes, avoiding mixing your personal and professional life. You can also use it with outside parties, like customers, specially if your sales processes allow it - for onboarding purposes, for example.
We use it to integrate seamlessly with so many other tools (Google Drive, Zoom, Asana, etc.), so everything lives in one place. The search function is a lifesaver when I need to pull up old files or conversations quickly. Its also a tool our team uses to motivate one another and stay connected it has been huge in building camaraderie
Pros
cuts down on wasted time and keeps everything + everyone aligned
integrates seamlessly with other tools (Google Drive, Zoom etc.), so everything lives in one place
direct messaging makes it easy to connect instantly without email overload.
Cons
threaded replies clunky and easy to miss in fast-moving conversations.
First-time users sometimes find Slack’s layout clunky
deleting channels/threads can get confusing
Likelihood to Recommend
It is appropriate when working cross functionally in a professional setting everything lives in one place especially for remote and hybrid teams. Very less appropriate for large organizations with thousands of active users Channels can get noisy and overwhelming, making it harder to filter what’s important.
