Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for managing transport requests. SAP Transportation Management supports us in keeping an overview of transports moving into production. We use a double-approval process to ensure that each transport undergoes unit and user acceptance testing before going live.

Pros

  • Transports and transports of copies enable refinement to work in progress
  • The configuration within SAP Transportation Management allow us to tailor the transport procedures to the needs of our business

We are logistics own asset based FTL company, which needs more efficiency, ,integrated E2E solution, data for decision making, orchestration of order to cash and planning to execution processes.

Cons

  • Planning and execution area for carriers is not covered fully. It has scenarious covered, but its mainly manual and not suited for high volumes and loads
  • Intermodal transportation management - absent or inefficient
  • Trailer swap functionality is like 10 steps process, which is highly manually consuming and is not efficient for company operating >5000 trucks and trailers
