SAP Integration Suite functions as a central integration platform, primarily connecting diverse SAP and non-SAP applications across an organization's IT landscape. In TrustRadius reviews, users frequently deploy it for business-to-business (B2B) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements, as well as internal application-to-application (A2A) needs, often integrating solutions like SAP SuccessFactors. Reviewers widely commend its extensive adapter and connectivity options, along with its native integration capabilities for SAP backend systems.
While some reviewers note its role in facilitating real-time integrations and achieving cost savings by consolidating middleware, others highlight areas for improvement. Concerns frequently arise regarding its cost and licensing model, cited by 4 out of 9 reviewers, and a desire for enhanced integration and connectivity options. Reviewers also point to a need for more robust enterprise-level features and improvements in the user interface. Overall, the suite is seen as a capable solution, particularly within SAP ecosystems, but with opportunities for refinement.
Pros
Extensive adapter and connectivity options for diverse systems (cloud and on-premise)
Simplified API management and building capabilities
Ease of use and management in its SaaS deployment model
Native integration with SAP backend systems like S/4HANA and ECC
Facilitates real-time integrations and process automation
Cons
Cost and licensing model are frequently cited as areas for improvement
Needs enhanced integration and connectivity options for broader interoperability
Lacks robust enterprise-level features such as detailed reporting dashboards and role concepts
User interface and usability could be improved, particularly for mapping and error reprocessing
Scalability and performance for very large data handling require attention
I use SAP Integration Suite for my organization's annual objective creation, employee record-keeping & career tracking, and timekeeping/payroll. SAP enables our team to maintain employee records from onboarding to severance, regardless of the individual's employment journey throughout their tenure within the organization. SAP also enabled our team to track employee performance, attendance reliability, and pay/benefits/confidential HR data in a single, unified platform.
Pros
Timekeeping
Objective tracking
Employment history
Personnel details
Cons
More automated timekeeping - esp. in relation to repetitive scheduling for hourly employees.
Improved attendance/reliability tracking (this is a primary metric for our organization, so it needs to be as accurate and intuitive as possible).
More robust/relational objective creation/tracking (this might be very difficult for a multi-organizational solution, but adding a deeper relationship/connection between objectives and day-to-day work would go a long way toward employee engagement across the org.

My organization uses the SAP Integration Suite primarily for interdepartmental/cross-functional operations and support needs, i.e., timekeeping, payroll, maintaining confidential employee records, and annual organizational objective creation and tracking. The flexibility of the SAP platform makes objective creation easy and customizable to add tasks or goalposts in order to keep our team on track and ensure project/objective success!
We are using SAP Integration Suite for integrating our SAS based enterprise applications with other SAS & On-Premise applications. This solution is put in place across the organization and we went live successfully. The integration between our SuccessFactors Employee Central SAS application and BenefitFocus & our on-premise has been done successfully. Additionally, we were able to complete our open enrollment on the new platform.
Pros
Predefined integrations.
Ease of use.
Product support.
Cons
Groovy script editor.
Inline help.
Improvement of UI while using Camel.

The product comes with several prebuilt integration flows. This made our implementation very easy. All we had to do is configure them for various instances and/or tenants and that's it. The API platform is amazing. I personally used and use it several times a day for testing the integrations and reviewing the data being returned.

It's being used by the Customer Department in our organization. We currently use SAP Integration Suite for SaaS applications like WebIDE, DQM, CPI etc. SAP Integration Suite helped us to created different instances of CPI to match our non-prod environment needs. We are in the exploring phase to utilize the platform for deploying any custom-built applications.
Pros
SAP platform integration with Azure AD is definitely a strength. It made our user management pretty easy once we turned on SSO.
With the latest "pay per use" model we are in complete control of what is needed and sub-accounts can be provisioned when needed.
The capability of using multiple user stores for authentication is really a plus to provision users from two different organizations.
Cons
Role management is hit or miss. We had challenges in granting minimum roles required for the user. It could be a training or documentation issue.
Streamlining "Cloud Peering" services across different data centers will definitely help organizations looking for a dedicated line for reliable connectivity.
Currently, DQM services are only available in one data center out of Europe. It would be better if the option is provided to the customer to choose the data center location.

SAP Integration Suite is best for any SaaS-based applications offered by SAP. It may not be the right choice for organizations looking for PaaS offerings.

Currently, we are using SAP Integration Suite as PaaS for a customized Fiori app for mobile devices so our field users can submit their order confirmation.
Pros
With the Cloud platform, we do not have to worry about the maintenance of the server.
The effort put in with the technical team and business for testing each new upgrade related to a product.
Feasibility to have our own custom apps.
Cons
More documentation and steps/blogs on how to perform security configurations.
Easy mapping with LDAP users and SAP users.
Likelihood to Recommend
Our field users currently have to have paper documentation and then visit the nearest office to input work order data. With SAP Integration Suite integration in the mobile app, it helps them to perform the tasks in the app, saving time.

SAP Integration Suite is used in integrating the On-premise backend system and the Cloud for Customer application. There are standard iFlows that are available, which are straightforward to deploy and use based on the functionalities required. SAP is easier to use. It helps to connect both On-premise and Cloud applications.
Pros
Integration between S4HANA and C4C is made easier.
Ready to identify and deploy iFlows that are required.
User-friendly.
Cons
Drag and Drop feature.
Recommended steps feature -- We need this, as we are moving towards deploying rapid solutions.
A little visual improvement may be better.
Likelihood to Recommend
Best suited where it is for integration between On-premise and Cloud applications. It is less appropriate where there are too many integrations with legacy systems.
