SAP Commerce Cloud is primarily utilized by organizations as a core platform to establish and manage e-commerce operations, including B2B storefronts and comprehensive solutions across web, mobile, and retail channels. In TrustRadius reviews, users frequently highlight its comprehensive feature set for managing product information, customer segmentation, and order processing, alongside its robust data management and integration capabilities, particularly with ERP systems. The platform's scalability for complex business models like B2B and B2B2C is also a noted strength.
Reviewers report that the platform significantly enhances customer experience through personalization and streamlines manual ordering processes, contributing to improved ROI and operational efficiency. However, a notable drawback is its performance and resource intensity, especially with complex promotions or pricing conditions, which 4 of 7 reviewers cited as a concern. Customization and integration are also described as complex and time-consuming, and the overall cost is a factor for some. Despite these challenges, the platform is generally seen as positively impacting business objectives.
Pros
Comprehensive e-commerce features for product, customer, and order management
Robust data management and seamless integration with ERP systems
Scalability to support complex B2B and B2B2C business models
Effective web content management capabilities through SmartEdit
Enhances customer experience with personalization and streamlined processes
Cons
High resource intensity impacting performance, especially with complex promotions
Significant cost and pricing concerns for the solution
Complex and time-consuming customization and integration processes
User interface and SmartEdit could be more responsive and intuitive
Potential for slowdowns in smaller hosting environments
We run our B2B E-Commerce platform on SAP Commerce Cloud (CCV2). Business employees are our customers and they log into our Storefront which is built out of Composable Storefront and transact. SAP Commerce Cloud forms the core of our services as it is the only platform that we expose to our customers.
Pros
Builds the basic components of n e-comm platform very well - like the storefront, cart, checkout, PLP, PDP etc.
The decoupling of the storefront with the backend Hybris system is a great recent gain after we migrated out UI to Spartacus
We use SmartEdit very effective as our single CMS system to manage all web content real time.
Cons
The interface to SmartEdit could be better
Promos are we resource intensive. running multiple promos sometimes slows the platform down
Managing jobs can be made better. Sometimes jobs get stuck and there is no active notifications sent.
Likelihood to Recommend
SAP Commerce Cloud is well suited for enterprises that need a scalable e-comm website up and running quickly. It scales well to multiple geo locations and launching multiple store sites is a breeze.
SAP Commerce Cloud struggles when the traffic is high. The platform hardware resource utilization is high, especially memory. So it may not be ideal for a very large e-comm site without spinning up large number of API nodes.

SAP Commerce Cloud is actually quick and one stop solution for businesses to operate from web, mobile or even at retail store. The best part of SAP is you are a inclusive part of SAP ecosystem where you can easily segregate your data for various analytics and operational purpose for better business optimization.
Pros
it has comprehensive features like product information management, customer segregation, order management and reporting.
It can have all the data at one place even if business is operating from online e-commerce store or from retail store.
We all know about the innovation, the optimized system , the security and the easiness of integrating any sap product to sap ecosystem.
Cons
The advantage is also a room, like we really need sap eco-system for better output. Standalone running SAP product is very hard
Obviously costly
maintenance and the customization is really tedious job
Likelihood to Recommend
1. Multiple store over ecommerce platform or retail across various location can be managed in one place. 2. Managing inventory and tracking is much easier f we have everything in one place. 3. Managing order in one place across all the stores in one place gives better analytics and visibility for business to understand customer as well.
We use SAP Commerce Cloud for all centralised data management in our organisation. We get to know in a timely manner about our regulatory changes and management of complex supply chains. The real time data processing is super helpful too!
Pros
Real time data processing
Supply chain management
Centralized data management
Cons
Integrations with legacy software
Migrations challenges
Compatibility with newer versions as there is a mismatch when it comes to using other features
Likelihood to Recommend
SAP Commerce Cloud is suitable for B2B large complex operations for maintaining processes and streamlining the customer success. It offers scalability and very high reliability. It is not appropriate when an org is looking to shift from a legacy software as migrations are not proper and add up significant work.

Mainly as an e-commerce solution: product content management, order management, catalog management, management of marketing campaigns/discounts. In our case we are using it to B2B e-commerce management. Especially useful for managing stocks and variety of products. On top of that we are using it extensively for marketing campaigns management and analytics.
Pros
Product content management
Order management
Scalability
Cons
High Costs (very)
Usability is not very intuitive
Poor documentation
Likelihood to Recommend
Really well suitable for big enterprises and for multi-chanel retailers - there are more than enough features necessary to manage extensive product catalogs and high transaction volumes. Moreover, if you have an extensive catalog of products and digital channels like including web, mobile, social media - it's a good choice. Also consider integration and hiring professionals to make the best out of the tool. Not appropriate for small business or e-commerce business with very limited needs (only sell, send).
We are a GCP Reseller company. We use SAP for managing our customers, and it creates a smooth journey for our customers. It has loads of pre-loaded features, including automated payment solutions, delivery and order processing, and promotions. One of the major defining factors of SAP is its integration with other products. It can be easily configured with GCP Billing.
Pros
We can set up automated channels that can generate and Send invoices to customers from Google Clouds billing.
We can set up different contracts according to customer agreements, which include promotions and discounts.
It automates most clunky billing processes which can be a huge advantage.
Cons
There are some issues with integrations. Like we have to generate an intermediate report and then feed it to SAP.
Changing the format of the invoice is a hassle sometimes, and the online resources are good but not great.
Time taken during migration is too long.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is a great ERP Solution. It automatically generates invoices for our multiple customers which is one of the best use cases.

We use a highly customized version of the CC. It is the core system of our e-commerce platform and basically functions as a backend for our B2C webshop, being the central hub for all products-, users- (both internal & external), and order-data management. We use a separate front end for our B2C customers.
Pros
Combines all basic e-commerce functionality in one product.
Cons
Customized parts of the system make regular updates cumbersome.
Codebase is reportedly tiresome for our developers.
internal user Backoffice's is pretty dated.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited if you want an all-in-one solution for setting up a simple webshop. Less suitable if you plan to perform major customization.

I led teams that designed and implemented SAP Commerce Cloud to enable online B2B and B2C eCommerce for clients.
Pros
B2C and B2B Webshops
Online Product Catalog
Reactive user interface development
Easy to navigate end user experience
Direct inbuilt interface with SAP for order management and fulfillment
Cons
SAP Commerce Cloud does not have large market share
More industry specific templates are needed
Better performance monitoring and tuning tools are needed
Likelihood to Recommend
SAP Commerce Cloud is an excellent choice for eCommerce for companies and organizations that already have SAP as their back office ERP order management, fulfillment and financial system.
The solution designed was powered by SAP Cx suite of applications and
led to a complete front office transformation through
– SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales & Service Cloud and SAP Business by Design
and backed by SAP S4/HANA to implement the desired digital transformation.
The SAP Commerce Cloud helped client to provide its customers with a self-service portal to interact with their dealers
& sales team, access latest company and machinery information, fleet management and hierarchy management as well as to avail service and spare part products. This digital transformation project has helped in improving the way in which the
company engages with its customers and dealers. The first Spartacus implementation
in India and first in construction equipment industry.
Helped in automating the manual processes and reducing the overall turn around time.
Post implementation there has been a significant increase in the number of customer registrations.
First mover advantage in construction equipment industry with single platform for all requirements
Expect a decrease in the transaction cost, increase in efficiency of sales and service team as well as dealers with the automated process through the digital platforms.
Pros
Commerce engine works really well and easy customization journey for end users
Seamless integrations with SAP system at the backend
Promotions engines are easy configurable for business users to publish the promotions
Headless architecture helps client to have better frontend experience
Cons
Should have some libraries in-build to create dashboards and reports
Should have simplified flow for the oData integrations with non-SAP systems
Likelihood to Recommend
In B2B scenarios for the primary orders, commerce cloud fits very well and have background services readily usable. In Searching it should give some more configuration based cockpit for the advance search configuration and custom attribute searching. B2B content management and promotions management is very easy from business perspective and helps to reduce the dependency on the development team.
We support a lot of client projects supporting SAP Commerce Cloud. Many of the clients involve us in the Platform selection phase and once the platform is selected, the implementation is supported by our team as well. At present, I have been working with large Energy and Retail clients on their implementation on the SAP Commerce Cloud.
Pros
End to end purchase flow
Easy to configure promotions
Good support
Cons
Pricing
Making package a bit lighter
Likelihood to Recommend
Based on the overall package, the SAP Commerce cloud provides lots of options OOB for supporting multiple client requirements. It also provides flexibility to customize the code based on client needs. OOB Catalog management, user access management, and Promotion engine have been very helpful in supporting our clients. Overall SAP Commerce cloud deployment process is also smooth.
