OneCause Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have utilized OneCause for our annual auction/gala event for over 10 years. The software is user-friendly for volunteers and guests. The event staff handles the software logistics (check-in, payments, etc.) directly with our volunteers--allowing our staff to focus on execution of the event and our supporters!

Pros

  • Event Staff
  • Pre-event Coordination

Cons

  • None

Return on Investment

  • The software allows us to track and report so that we have final results within a few days--rather than staff time committed to processing donations, tickets, etc.

Happy We Switched to OneCause!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use OneCause as our event platform mainly. We have one large event a year that is our main fundraiser in which we use OneCause in it's whole capacity including bidding on Live and Silent Auctions, as well as Raffles & Donation Moments.

OneCause tracks our fundraising goals and I use the exports to import into our other CRM system.

Pros

  • The raffle set-up is very easy to navigate and allows you to adapt your location's needs for raffle laws.
  • The site design makes it so easy for you to set up your event page in minutes.
  • OneCause makes it very easy for table management for large events.

Cons

  • OneCause could improve their messaging - the fact that custom emails are not as easy as custom texts can be frustrating. I wish all the automated messages were possible over email as most of our professionals that we work with, they prefer email over a text.
  • OneCause could make it easier to copy and paste text into site design or other features. Having to re-type out the text is a time-suck, when it would be easier to adjust the text to the font default without having to type it in the HTML editor on it's own.
  • PLEASE make it easier to resend the "assign tickets email". The fact that the main way to do that is when you first enter them into OneCause, but then are not able to resend that message to ticket owners at a later date makes it difficult for them to find what they need when they are ready to assign their tickets.

Return on Investment

  • The ability to set up a donation moment when people purchase a ticket on the site has brought in funds that were unexpected and allow people to show their additional support.
  • The reports to cross-check our deposits to our merchant account are less smooth. This takes up more time than usual and it's caused us to spend more time to double check the funds that were raised.

OneCause is a Game Changer

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage non-profit fundraising events and we use the OneCause CRM to manage our fundraising events, primarily the Silent Auction function.

Pros

  • Technology Advancement
  • Top Notch Customer Service
  • User friendly platforms
  • Follow ups and event logistics

Cons

  • My biggest complaint was the credit card processing system, but they've made changes
  • I would like to see advancements with the mobile check-in in processes at events
  • Tweaks to fixed price options in the system.

Return on Investment

  • During a live auction, we had records of guest raising their paddles during the event for thousands of dollars, but in the end, it was an error that we couldn't fix. It affected our bottom line tremendously
  • Sometimes we use third-party auction companies and the representative put in the incorrect bid values for certain items. The OneCause manager caught the errors immediately and was able to correct them before the event began.
  • At an event, the venue changed the location of the registration area, which had poor wifi reception. Because of the OneCause manager arriving early, they were able to troubleshoot and get the correct reception area.
