We use it for board and board committee meetings. The program allows everyone to see the meeting packets in one place. It also allows for everyone to join virtual meetings from one place, in the meeting packet.
Pros
Notifications
Approvals
Meeting setups
Meeting packets
Cons
The virtual meetings are sometimes hard to join.
'Join via Zoom' and 'Join via OnBoard' are confusing to users.
'Edit Agenda' should be in more locations than the top of the agenda so you don't have to scroll all the way up to get to it. OR the option to just click to edit and not have to click 'Edit Agenda'.

I have no complaints. It's user friendly and the help guides are easy to navigate. Customer service is responsive as well.
We use OnBoard Board Management Software to manage our board committee meetings and committee assignments. This way, the communication is protected and our board information is located in one place - OnBoard!
We host our board policies, financial policies, and bylaws on OnBoard Board Management Software as well as our financial reports and minutes from previous meetings. It's one stop for our Board members, and they've all adopted it!
Pros
Minutes are done in a blink of an eye if you've set up your agenda correctly.
Board members read the minutes and approve them before the meeting using the OnBoard Board Management Software approval functions!
Consent agenda's can be approved before the board meets!
Cons
RSVPing is easy if your members remember to do it. If the admins had access to mark people as attending it would be very helpful! No more guessing for food at your event.
Spreadsheets don't show up well on OnBoard Board Management Software, you need to make them into pdf's to view better.
The pricing could be lower for smaller non-profits.
Likelihood to Recommend
OnBoard Board Management Software charges by the number of people with access, so it's not feasible to use it for all of our committees and sections.
We use OnBoard for loan committee meetings plus board meetings and other special committees. There is no need to print materials, everything is in the portal and for the loan committees, we utilize the voting option.
Pros
Organizes meetings
Everything in one place for committee meetings.
User friendly
Cons
Would be nice if the "share this meeting" link was customizable or cleaner looking.

OnBoard Board Management Software was easy to implement and learn from an admin and user viewpoint. Works well for even our senior members of the board. If there has ever been an issue, support was readily available and helped us solve it quickly.
The Missouri State University Foundation purchased the OnBoard system to communicate with 100 members of our Board of Trustees. We can post announcements of events, committee meeting agendas, handouts, and Zoom links to the portal. OnBoard sends reminders to the Trustees when something has been posted. There is a large Resource section where documents and meeting minutes can be accessed. Prior to purchasing the software, we made photocopies of all documents for our meetings. OnBoard has eliminated the time and expense of making copies and it is easy to navigate within the system.
Pros
Sends email reminders when something has posted.
Makes it easy to load meeting agendas and handouts.
Keeps track of RSVPs for meetings.
Cons
Occasionally a meeting agenda won't sync and users are unable to access the attachments.

We have been completely satisfied with the OnBoard software and the support team is always available and helpful.
OnBoard is currently being used by our board of directors and board committees. It is used on a weekly basis for meetings as well as voting and survey tools.
Pros
Board management
Meeting book management
Action tools, i.e. surveys, voting
Cons
Nothing comes to mind.

OnBoard is great for board management with setting up meeting agendas and materials. It is so easy to use from an administrator's standpoint as well as for the end-user such as board members and committee members. The Resources section is a great spot to house all your pertinent board documents such as the code of regulations, board rosters, etc. The Action area is also well suited to creating surveys and action items.
We use OnBoard for electronic board packets, Senior Management online meetings, Senior Loan Committee approvals.
Pros
Electronic Board Packets
Online Meetings with Voting Records
Cons
Download capabilities are only given to administrators. I wish this could be granted on a per user per application basis.

OnBoard [Board Management Software] has reduced our paper and postage consumption by leaps and bounds. This has allowed us more time to add and modify reports because it allows us an extended amount of time since we are providing electronic books rather than mailing physical board packets.

OnBoard was my company's first venture into the world of online meeting management. We viewed several options and ultimately selected OnBoard because it was user-friendly and met our established needs. In the over 4 years we have utilized OnBoard, it has exceeded our expectations. Prior to OnBoard, all board and committee packets were paper. They were prepared in advance which sometimes required addenda when additions or revisions were made. We spent a lot of time preparing, mailing, and if needed, updating the packets. At the end of board meetings, the paper packets were typically left behind on the conference room table. Transitioning to OnBoard has saved a tremendous amount of time and effort, not to mention paper and postage. Some of our board members were initially hesitant to utilize an electronic platform. We have board members of varying ages and some have served for upwards of 15-20 years. They, in particular, were set in their paper ways. All have successfully transitioned to adeptly using OnBoard, including survey and electronic signature features. Our new board members are immediately introduced to OnBoard for onboarding components and rarely need assistance figuring it out because it's so user-friendly and easy to navigate.
Pros
Allows for easy additions or changes to the board packet.
Provides imbedded electronic signatures easily linked to appropriate agenda items.
Provides an easily downloadable copy of the packet and agenda.
Allows companies to upload documents of significance such as Bylaws into a centralized Resource Center which is securely accessible.
Customer support is excellent. You can always get a timely answer via phone or email. The follow-up on issues that can't be resolved immediately is very timely and thorough.
Cons
I'd like to see the electronic signature feature upgraded to allow signature box rotation. Sometimes documents are a combination of portrait and landscape and the current setup only recognizes one orientation when inserting signature boxes.
There is a syncing issue that occurs during seasonal time changes that sometimes prevents users from accessing OnBoard. Our IT department has needed to help board members resolve this and regain access.
There are several new features to OnBoard now, but they come at a cost. While it's nice to demo these features, it would be great to have some new features included in the already purchased package instead of at an additional cost.
The Zoom integration is nice but doesn't meet our needs. You do not have screen share or other Zoom features available while using it integrated within OnBoard. For remote meetings, we use Zoom and screen share OnBoard within its own browser.

OnBoard is an adaptable platform that could be used for most meetings. It works perfectly to build an agenda and packet for board and committee meetings. It allows for easy RSVP to ensure a quorum at meetings. All users are able to easily view the packet and can even make notations of points they want to discuss during the meeting. OnBoard doesn't work well for detailed documents such as spreadsheets. Our company has a strategic plan and we cannot use OnBoard for that committee meeting. The size of the spreadsheet simply doesn't function well within OnBoard and isn't easily navigable. The same is true of certain financial spreadsheets.
We use OnBoard Board Management Software for board of trustees management, to create and share board books for the meetings (as well as for staff meetings), as a resource library for our trustees, and to gather approvals for minutes and actions without meetings.
Pros
Store resources
Create meeting books
Approvals
Cons
Annotations feature
Other extra features I have tried have been too clunky for our trustees
Likelihood to Recommend
It is great for creating board books and being a one-stop source of materials for trustees. I think any other bells and whistles are too contrived to make sense to busy trustees. It would be cool if it linked up with other apps better, like Survey Monkey for post-board meeting surveys. It would also be great if there were a la carte options for the other features--analytics would be useful, but I don't need all the other extra features that come with it.
OnBoard Board Management Software has allowed our small nonprofit to continue to be member led by our board and committees during the pandemic. Although we had planned to switch to OnBoard Board Management Software before the pandemic, mainly to eliminate the need for so many emails and paper copies of board and committee materials being mailed around, since the pandemic, OnBoard Board Management Software has allowed for our meetings to be conducted virtually up to and including board votes on resolutions and budgets.
Pros
Virtual voting
Virtual meetings with Zoom integration
Housing of all board books and meeting calendars in one place with integration with Outlook Calendar
Cons
The Zoom functionality isn't the same as the full Zoom suite, such as Zoom Conference
The file system isn't as easy to move files around in and some file types aren't supported
It is expensive to bring in large volumes of users
Likelihood to Recommend
It works well for a small nonprofit with an active board and committees. You can build board books and committee materials in the software package for everyone to see, including the PowerPoint slides and supplementary materials in Excel, Word, or PowerPoint. Unfortunately, it is expensive for large volumes of users, so it isn't appropriate for full member usage or for allowing members to have access to documents.
We transitioned to electronic Board of Trustees meetings with OnBoard in October 2014. Prior to this, the Board materials were hard copy notebooks, which took hours, or even days to copy, collate, and assemble. Using OnBoard has cut that time drastically since the same amount of materials can be uploaded in an hour or less. And because the Board materials reside on the OnBoard server, our trustees can access the materials on any device from any location. The software is intuitive and user-friendly for both the end-user and the administrator. As the administrator, I appreciate that any last-minute changes to the materials can be made effortlessly, and the attendees to the meeting have the update as soon as it is uploaded. Support materials on the OnBoard Web site are plentiful, and technical support is very responsive. I highly recommend OnBoard Board Management Software.
Pros
Saves preparation time.
Can be accessed on any device from any location.
Intuitive and user-friendly.
Very responsive technical support.
Plentiful support materials.
Cons
Currently, you cannot block an entire group from a topic; you need to block attendees individually.
it would be nice to indent a section by using tabbing.
the added button for "save changes" in each section tends to slow down progress; edits used to be saved automatically and tended to be faster.

OnBoard is especially helpful when there are a lot of supporting materials for the meeting and if most of the attendees are members [of] OnBoard. If [any] of the attendees are not members, then it might not be the best option because you would still have to provide [a] hard copy for the non-members.
