Likelihood to Recommend
Nintex is ideal for large enterprises as well as those with subsidiaries in other countries, since its digitization platform is hierarchical, highly organized, and can be used across the entire organization. It allows processes to be divided by departments or countries and makes it easy to adapt to the specific variations of each. However, for small local businesses, it may be an oversized solution.

All the features have been functioning well.

It has developed effective process architecture that monitors all our activities in our company. We have managed to build advanced workflows that meet our organization's standards. All our programs have been well managed through time management and better planning. It is easy to work with this platform and deploy it within the premises. The share point interface provides fantastic file sharing options and template customization.
Nintex fills the gap of development not addressed by Sharepoint. Developers who start building solutions on Sharepoint very quickly realize the limitations of this platform and start looking for advanced workflow automation technologies. That's where Nintex fits in. We tried to roll out Nintex across the whole organization but it only got traction within a couple of departments.
Pros
Low learning curve.
Big focus on developer/user experience.
Multiple out-of-the-box connectors for third-party solutions like Office 365, Box and other apps mostly from the Microsoft ecosystem.
They really know how to build a user community.
Cons
Nintex is heavily dependent on Sharepoint and carries over many technical dependencies of this platform, making it difficult to scale.
Nintex makes bold statements about being a leader in the business process world yet they don't recognize many standards, e.g., BPMN.
We ran into a number of technical issues when supporting this platform.
Likelihood to Recommend
Nintex Platform might be well suited for: Workflow automation scenarios that complement larger apps that don't offer workflow automation capabilities (i.e. Salesforce). Simpler and basic business processes that need to run in combo with Sharepoint. Situations where it's impossible to use other DPA Platforms or Microsoft Flow.
Nintex for O365 is used by all users of the company. As Nintex is a codeless platform to develop workflows, everyone finds it easy to develop simple to complex workflows in a short span of time without engaging a dedicated developer. Nintex is used to address some of the common use cases in everyday working like multi level document and process approvals, lazy approval, automating processes like SharePoint site provisioning and some common admin tasks like adding users to a site based on approval.
Pros
Codeless platform : The end user does not need to be a developer to develop Nintex workflows. The easy drag and drop on the canvas feature makes it easy for all novices and experts to develop Nintex workflow
Easy to migrate from one environment to another : Easy to migrate the workflow from a dev site to the production site. Just export and import the Nintex workflow templates
Great vendor support : I have seen quick turnaround on all my support enquiries with Nintex. The support team offers friendly advise on steps to be taken to solve the workflow issue that was raised with them.
Wide range of SaaS connectors and Actions : Nintex covers most of the SaaS connectors that Enterprise(s) use and it is easy to develop a workflow that spans multiple platforms. ( all without writing any code )
Good Online Help on actions : The documentation is good enough for a new user to start using the actions.
Cons
Provide UI cues to the user in case the user develops a long running workflow ( based on the number of actions ) that can stop working on the Microsoft Workflow Manager Service on O365.
Provide simple user recipe's to develop workflows based of a template that over some of the common use cases.
Add native support for workflow status as they execute or pause due to any errors.
Likelihood to Recommend
1. Well suited for simple approval workflows. 2. Not suited for complex requirements where the workflow logic spans into more than 60+ actions. This will make developing, debugging difficult and also introduce errors due to runtime limitations of the Workflow manger service on O365
Nintex Workflow is being used as an alternative to developing workflows in MS SharePoint Designer.
Pros
The main strength is the way it "reads" your workflow. It is much easier to understand and develop when compared to the stunted text of a MS SharePoint Developer workflow.
Cons
I found it sometimes non intuitive to drill down into list items.
Likelihood to Recommend
The more complicated the workflow desired, the more elegant Nintex Workflow will reveal itself to be.
We are using the docgen api to enable our customers to use a document automation workflow. Our customers are lawyers from various law firms in the U.S., and they are heavily involved with generating new documents in their daily lives. Using our Clio’s vast data within the law firm and using Nintex’s docgen api, we’ve been able to let the lawyers create automated docgen in different file extensions
Pros
Customer support response speed.
Point of contacts.
Cons
Docgen api maintainability is quite low priority than other features.
Performance could see some improvements.
Giving more descriptive error messages for api users could be handy for developers.
Likelihood to Recommend
Nintex does a nice job enabling document automation workflow quite fast and nicely. However, the security part of the api is always in question. Nintex uses the third-party docgen api itself, which could pose a client data sensitivity breach. Hopefully, the developers get more clarity on how the team is handling the PII in the near future
Nintex's K2 is used to automate business process and enable the digitalizing of business processes. Business problems include managing cost estimations to managing inventory to managing input and approvals for different process that allow for creating visibility and tracking of processes. The user base for different applications range from 1 to 2000 in some cases.
Pros
Workflow automation
Low code application building
Approval Process and managing data
Cons
Styling of low code platform
Auto deployment process
Likelihood to Recommend
The solution we use, K2 Automation, is specifically suited for enabling business processes and allowing the formal monitoring of workflows through integration and automation. Building of low code solutions is quick and easy but are lacking in testing and auto deployment (CI/CD). The existing tools can be updated to be more productive.
