NetSuite is a comprehensive solution that can be configured as needed or through third-party applications. It is a robust platform; however, the costs of overhead can add up for SMB. With the new Oracle Redwood injection, the UI is getting a better, more modern look. The help tools are improving, and some AI assistants (LLMs) will make a significant difference for users.

We use this system for many purposes. I work in Supply Chain/Transportation so from a personal standpoint, NetSuite is very easy to use when managing purchase orders as well as billing. We are able to customize everything to fit our needs. Because of this, we can easily find any errors that have been made and correct them in a timely manner. We also have additional services that communicate with NS to update ETAs for our shipments, show current amount that has been billed down to container level, etc. It is very useful.
Pros
provides a single source to manage finances
gives the ability to customize fields for more detailed reporting/analytics for all departments
can create purchase orders and sales orders for vendors/customers
Cons
system is fairly slow when updating inbound shipments

I would recommend NetSuite to any company as a system that can help manage their company. It can be helpful for all departments.
I use NetSuite ERP on a daily basis to do bank reconciliations, monthly reports, fixed asset proposals, and more. NetSuite ERP addresses many business problems including bank reconciliations, monthly reports, fixed asset proposals, bill pay, and more. The scope is that I use it daily for these features and NetSuite ERP makes it very simple to solve these business problems.
Pros
Easy user interface to navigate
Clear tabs at the top of the screen to navigate to various accounting functions
Fast loading when it comes to generating reports
Cons
Some reports aren't very functional or lead to errors
Sometimes there are too many options and I need a simpler ERP system
Bank reconciliations can be difficult to check the box for all items

It is well suited for large organizations that do lots of transactions, lots of accounts payable items, accounts receivable items, paying bills, receiving payments, generating reports, and more. It is less appropriate for small businesses or other entities that are best suited for a smaller ERP system. The organization I am at is fairly large, so it is best suited for me.
We use NetSuite ERP as our ERP, handling general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, warehousing, inventory, and other functions. Currently we manage HR/payroll elsewhere, but looking to bring it in scope. The major use case for our ERP is to not only handle financials in general, but help us manage the stock functions of our franchised stores and centralise ordering. In our group corporate office we have demand planning and ordering functions, and we see the ERP as a key way to manage this, while freeing the stores to focus on customer care.
Pros
It was born in the cloud and is cloud-native at every step. There are no clunky on-premises integrations to deal with.
SuitePeople is tremendously full-featured and highly usable
It offers strong reporting / BI options, including integrations with third-parties
Cons
Trial/test/developer account options are very limited
The scripting language / customisation options can be complex
Training options are lacking

NetSuite ERP has been a cloud-first ledger/financials platform from the get-go, so it does this excellently. It has also had strong retail integration from the beginning. Hence, it does these brilliantly and if these are your scenarios then it's a solid choice.
It's HRIS is relatively recent (in comparison), and its payroll is not yet global so third-party products are still needed.
We use NetSuite ERP to manage all of our inventory, receive inventory, accounting, ecommerce and order fulfillment, and sales in store on NSPOS. My primary use of ERP is to manage publish and manage products on the website. NSERP makes this easy because by using one single source to mange items. For example, the same items created for selling in our physical location are easily published for sale on the SuiteCommerce webstore.
Pros
Allowing custom fields on records like item records.
Providing one single data source for reporting.
Allows creation of very granular permissions for users
Cons
Latency in ERP is often an issue and impacts individual users' performance
Learning curve for new users is an obstacle

NetSuite ERP is well suited for large organizations that have the technical human resources and focus to support ERP. Your success with ERP will be determined by your ability to extract the benefit which requires development. Everything is "in the box" but you need to get it out of the box. ERP would be less suited to organizations that lack technical resource or dedication to technical development.
We are a global company which have vendors and customers all around the world. Therefore we deal with multiple locations, addresses, currencies, bank accounts and payment merchants. NetSuite enables us to customize the ERP to our needs to ensure we deliver on our mission objective.
Pros
Easy to customize
User Friendly
Cloud based
Lots of hints and tips on screen to self explain
Cons
Cost is too expensive
Restricted number of users
Relies heavily on the internet
Journal entries leaves a very poor audit trail

Very important for a medium to big company with lots of data. Although due to the cost - a smaller company with budget constrain won't be able to afford it.
