NetSuite is primarily used for inventory tracking as well as finance at our organization. I know that there is other functionality that we can be utilizing within the system, but the cost/training/rollout are all under consideration. NetSuite does have some really great functionality around barcoding and configuration, but the changes do come at a cost.
Pros
User management
Recognition in industry
Configuration options
Cons
Difficult to train to
Lack of customer support (all comes at a cost)
Difficult to navigate
Likelihood to Recommend
I think that if there was appropriate training and rollout of the system at an organization, it could be incredibly useful. However, additional training was offered at a fairly significant cost. The system overall is very compliant, and appears to work well for pharmaceutical/medical device companies. However, training is a primary hurdle.

NetSuite ERP, as with many other, similar Oracle products is a well designed and (eventually) quite a logical, straight forward, and user friendly tool (once you learn all the caveats and ins & outs) which allows you to easily retrieve and analyze several different types of data from all the differing departments in an organization. It puts all the data into one neatly packaged place. Our organization has assisted clients (I'm a finance operations consultant) in both - implementations, and process imrpovement using this tool. It's a really great all around data storage, organization, and analysis tool. It puts everything in one place and allows you to organize and retrieve in whichever way you like, from whichever dataset/department you need, and this can save so much time when compared to relying on others within the organization to provide you cruical data, since the data is all in the same place, therefore no need to reach out to other departments for much needed data, thereby not causing you to end up waiting on someone else to produce YOUR report.
Pros
Logical & Straightforward Organization of Data - it makes sense!
Managing Several Different Data Types from Multiple Departments Without Becoming Convoluted and without sacrificing user friendliness.
New implementations are not difficult to set up at all, and therefore is easy to train newly introduced staff.
There are so many opportunities to innovate in your own way, using the product in your own way, to suit your departmental or analysis needs.
So many opportunities to automate processes and reports!
Cons
Sometimes NetSuite ERP is difficult for many clients to set up
It is definitely not ideal, or even practical, for small to medium businesses
For many organizations, they are unaffordable
Likelihood to Recommend
NetSuite ERP is great for larger companies with many pieces and types of data to manage - as it comes with several functions service multiple departments on every level of data analysis from summarized dashboards and automated reports, to transaction level data investigation. It's intuitive and actually does improve efficiency, as saves your team from having to do a lot of data retrieves from multiple systems, just to build one report, for example. For small to medium companies, it isn't as feasible as many other systems (even Oracle's other systems) as it is quite pricey and the justification for that would obviously be all of the features and capabilities it has to offer - which likely wouldn't be utilized. Perhaps I have a bias towards Oracle though. I really do prefer Oracle products to begin with - HFM, Essbase, Oracle BI, etc. - for the automation possibilities and straightforward functioning they all have.
Utilize NetSuite ERP as our ERP accounting system platform for general ledger, financial reporting, fixed assets, lease accounting and accounts payable. Treasury transactions are insync with our financial institutions for disbursements and receipts, and utilize NetSuite ERP's bank reconciliation tool. Also utilize NetSuite ERP planning and budgeting module for FP&A, management reporting, proformas and forecasting.
Pros
Accounts Payable
General ledger
Fixed assets
Cons
Financial reporting
Likelihood to Recommend
NetSuite ERP is best suited for small and medium businesses for their ERP Accounting System, which includes various modules such as: general ledger, financial reporting, lease accounting, accounts payable, purchase order, inventory, accounts receivable, eliminations and fixed assets. Additionally, NetSuite ERP has a financial planning and analysis module; NetSuite Planning and Budgeting (NSPB). NetSuite ERP also allows companies to grow with multiple entity capabilities.
We use this system for many purposes. I work in Supply Chain/Transportation so from a personal standpoint, NetSuite is very easy to use when managing purchase orders as well as billing. We are able to customize everything to fit our needs. Because of this, we can easily find any errors that have been made and correct them in a timely manner. We also have additional services that communicate with NS to update ETAs for our shipments, show current amount that has been billed down to container level, etc. It is very useful.
Pros
provides a single source to manage finances
gives the ability to customize fields for more detailed reporting/analytics for all departments
can create purchase orders and sales orders for vendors/customers
Cons
system is fairly slow when updating inbound shipments
Likelihood to Recommend
I would recommend NetSuite to any company as a system that can help manage their company. It can be helpful for all departments.
We use NetSuite ERP primarily for revenue recognition, customer information management, billing, and inventory tracking. It serves as our central database for important customer contacts and is essential for maintaining accurate records across departments. NetSuite ERP plays a key role in aligning our sales, finance, and operations teams by ensuring consistent visibility into order status, billing timelines, and revenue milestones. While it’s not our CRM, it complements our sales tools by housing critical post-sale information that supports customer success and financial accuracy. Overall, NetSuite ERP is a foundational system for our back-office functions and financial reporting.
Pros
Revenue recognition
integrated financials
custom reporting
Scalability
Cons
Customizing settings
Customizing templates for email, invoicing, sales orders etc.
Overall UI - UI feels outdated and clunky
Likelihood to Recommend
NetSuite ERP is well suited for many things including: Revenue recognition and billing management, inventory-linked sales fulfillment, cross functional/multi-department coordination
Not that well suited for CRM and sales activities or highly customized workflows, reports, interfaces etc. The customizability of NS as a whole leave a lot to be desired. We have a third party that does most of our customizations because it's extremely time consuming and needlessly difficult.
I use NetSuite for Accounts payable invoice posting , client invoice billing , reporting , and bank reconciliation
Pros
Bank reconciliation- able to easily reconcile accounts with match bank data and identify any discrepancies
Invoice entry is simple and efficient as duplicate entries notifications help avoid double payments
Aging payable reports ,being able to customize fields and grab the data you need to display
Cons
Some improvements can be made in terms of syncing from external credit card or banks . Many time the connection breaks out of the blue.
Would love to be able to export transactions directly from the vendor entry screen.
Likelihood to Recommend
That suite is very user-friendly being that it is also an Internet based ERP system you can have links and multiple tabs duplicated and opened at the same time. <div>

Account Manager in Finance and Accounting (1001-5000 employees)
NetSuite is primarily used as the accounting and finance system of record, generating invoices for customers and handling other related activities. This addressed our need for a system that could scale as the business grew, while being customized to meet our specific needs and integrate with another company.
Pros
Accounting system.
Customized for business.
Comprehensive set of tools and features.
Lots of integrations.
Cons
Overly complicated in some areas.
Lots of setup required.
Not user friendly.
Dated look.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for situations where business is growing and already fairly large, with a need for a very customized experience, and has the time and money to implement correctly. This is less suitable for smaller businesses that cannot afford the time and resources to invest in this, and it would not meet their needs very easily.

We use NetSuite ERP for our accounting. We love the flexibility of creating custom fields and custom transaction types. We are a government entity so we were able to create custom transactions for our Public Health department which was very helpful. The reporting and searches are very handy as well. We are able to create cash-basis reports and accrual reports.
Pros
Reports
Customization
Cons
Bad 3rd party representation
Need searches to be able to do web queries
Likelihood to Recommend
Very good for reporting and searches. Working well for us for accounting software. Love the web queries on the reporting. This enables us to be able to pull information into Power Bi dashboards. Our issues are the 3rd party vendor that has created their product off of NetSuite, cannot support us that well.
