We use NetSuite ERP for all of our financial and customer data. All of our payroll is done through NetSuite ERP, expensive reports, purchase orders, and donations/sales. We use it as a CRM for our customer/donor info, contact info, and lead info. We have also built out online forms for capturing leads and contacts.
Pros
Online forms
Creating custom forms to keep records of.
Recording sales data to be tracked.
Very customizable.
Cons
UI is not very user friendly. It takes a while to get used to it.
Setting up roles and permissions is not very straight forward.
Building reports to view data should a lot easier.

Accounting and CRM seem to be the best features for NetSuite ERP, while reporting and marketing features could pick up the slack a bit. It would be great to make it more user friendly as at first our sales people do not like it but the more the use it the more helpful they find it to be.
We use NetSuite ERP to maintain our GL and as a single source of truth for our other tools that rely on GL data. As someone in the Finance org the tool provides us saved searches to export our data as well as a base for monthly reporting to our board.
Pros
NetSuite ERP makes hierarchy management easy
Getting data out of NetSuite ERP is relatively easy via saved search
Dunning notice module does a great job of automating customer payment notices
Cons
In my experience, editing reports can be difficult. Some things are more rigid than it needs to be and it can be difficult to move items around.
I've found navigation sometimes doesnt work via the search bar and it can be difficult to get to certain areas of the system.

NetSuite ERP is a good scalable solution for organizations looking to move off quickbooks. There is no reason it can't be used in a larger organization it all just depends on how well the system is set up and how one off your needs are. If you are trying to report out of NetSuite ERP it can be difficult sometimes to get data in the format you need without getting to a full saved search, especially for items like Balance sheet and cash flow.

We use NetSuite EPR to manage the GL record revenue and for Ecommerce among other things. NetSuite EPR has helped us streamline our monthly close functions as well as provides us with ample ability to customize our instance to meet the specific needs of our business. We have also use the expense module to help us streamline our expense/reimbursement process with the correct approvals to get them out in a timely manner.
Pros
Fixed asset depreciation is a smooth process
the ability to upload transactions in bulk via csv
The ability to connect to the jdbc driver and build complex queries that aren't available in a single saved search.
Cons
Saved searches while robust, I've found sometimes don't include all fields, and some tables can't be joined in
I'v found with deleted transactions it doesn't hold the gl impact data
I've found certain permissions aren't available for view only

NetSuite EPR excels as a corporate GL. It also does AP and AR well, and connects to 3rd parties well. I have not used every module but I think there is room for improvement on the expense side we have ran into issues with multiple card feeds and itemization. Overall NetSuite EPR is a great tool.
I use NetSuite ERP primarily in the Buyer/Planner model. I create items, manage inventory, and create invoices. I also run reports and input CRM data. Netsuite ERP helps us run our business efficiently and provide accurate sales and inventory data.
Pros
User experience relating to building items.
User experience relating to e-commerce activities
Accurate reporting of sales
Cons
In my experience, we are not able to print tags/SKU stickers for Non-inventory items.
In my opinion, it can be hard to pull correct reports from the Textbook module

Being cloud-based is at the top of my list. I am able to work anywhere, and my job requires me to be outside of my office often and I can complete any task in NetSuite ERP anywhere. I also appreciate that we can see the history of modifications/activity in NetSuite ERP, see who has modified records, when items were changed, etc.
We use it as our accounting system. It helps us with AP, bank reconciliations, attaching back up for audits, coding and managing funds. We use it to store all our clients accounting for the year and tracking their revenues/expenses to keep them compliant. We use it for analysis of their financials on a monthly and annual schedule. We also use it to maintain outstanding checks.
Pros
bank reconciliations
attaching back up
tracking funds
Cons
transaction recognition
subsidiary set up
resource code set up

It makes accounting much easier. It's so clear to see what's going on. I've used QuickBooks and that is very hard to navigate when you want to go back and fix something. The bank recons are so easy to do and fix on NetSuite. It's also easy to code and create different levels of permissions for different employees and users to have.

It was bought for the entire business, but it has been a sham from start to finish! I bought NetSuite in August 2018, and it is now just coming to July 2019 and we're still not live. It has been a completely awful experience. Emails ignored, false embellishment of features, what is included and what is an extra cost, including some outright lies to my face and on calls. It has not solved any problems. It's just caused far more. Most of the staff you communicate with outside of senior management are not from the UK, making it difficult to understand them and for them to understand you. I would avoid and look elsewhere if you want good quality software.
Pros
It is very granular.
You can create specific customizations for specific roles.
Cons
Sales: They don't sell authentically.
Training Videos: These are beyond poor. As a training company myself, this NOT good. Trust me.
Use staff familiar with the nationality of the company they're interacting with.
Don't make up names for standard processes that exist in marketing and sales to make it look like it's unique to the company. They are not!
They need to stop blaming their customers for their own team's incompetence.
Reply to emails.

I honestly would not use NetSuite for anything. The ERP software and bank rec is out of date. E.g. there's no bank matching or live stream that you can get from software for £30 a month. Sales -- it's not bad for sales staff and scheduling, but even then, if you want a report, the graphics are awful and leaps behind the competitors.
We've moved away from Netsuite as a company, and now solely use it as a means to process orders, samples, and manage our supply chain. The system itself was too complicated for a CRM, and sales reps did not like the lack of an intuitive design.
Pros
Managing orders
Customization
Record Details
Cons
The user interface is severely lacking
Loading is very slow on a fast connection
There is too much to do with the software. Can be confusing.

If you just need a program to handle order processing over a large group of employees, then NetSuite seems aptly fit. It could also handle CRM alright, but you'd really need to spend a lot of time in the onboarding of new employees.
NetSuite is being used our our ERP system. It is used by all departments, but was brought in specifically by Finance. It has addressed tracking invoices and billing for thousands of customers, tracking all sales numbers and goals, all implementation statuses, the NPS of each customer, among many many other things. It has allowed our company to have all information on a customer in a single location. At times third party tools will be used, but NetSuite is where the majority of our company's work is being done.
Pros
NetSuite does a good job of providing many different options to meet the ever changing needs of organizations.
NetSuite reports are not the most simple to use, but can be managed fairly easily. Those reports can be shared with users who are not report savvy so they can get the data they need on-demand.
Cons
NetSuite user interface is not the most intuitive. It is similar to the older Salesforce pages, but not quite as intuitive as that.
NetSuite mobile app has only been useful for finding the most basic information about a customer. I rarely ever use it, even if I'm on the road.

NetSuite is well suited for a company that doesn't want to use Salesforce for whatever reasons that may be, including price. It does provide one of the more robust ERP systems on the market and has the ability to connect with other 3rd party systems. It can also be helpful for a company mostly focused on the invoicing and finance side of the building. It has always been a less satisfying experience for the Sales department at the company I work for. This has mainly been because of the sales reps user experience and the number of clicks required to navigate the system. This could be partially due to the way we set it up.
Netsuite is being used organization wide. We use it to tie our customer and marketing activities through to our financial results. We use all of that data along the way to gain business intelligence about our market and our customers. Using one system means that we can easily cross-train, share best practices and minimize our training costs. We also have kept our costs of system administration down as Netsuite provides us a front to back platform. We have significant utilization of the ERP functionality and we are continuing to grow our CRM side utilization.
Pros
Netsuite does a great job of taking a prospect to a customer and then housing all data that comes from that relationship.
Automation on the financial side has been critical to scaling our business. With the addition of revenue recognition templates we have been able to better track our revenue of some 3000+ customers at any given time.
Billing automation has allowed us to invoice out 2.1 million to 1,000+ customers within a week or two. This allows us to keep cashflow coming in at critical times with significantly less manpower than has been needed before.
The ability to add data points to the customer and also to build a customer using project modules all while keeping the books accurately reflecting that financial relationship.
Cons
Customization requires significant time investment. The learning curve is steep. You either need a dedicated resource to have the skill set to build these customizations for every department and every user or have money to invest in additional customization from NetSuite developers.
Compared to some other systems NetSuite is very intensive to build business intelligence from. It does not do three dimensions of data very well so you have to export into a BI tool, or even Excel. So you have to build multiple one or two dimensional saved searches and do the combining of them in a more user friendly platform.
The CRM functionality also falls victim to the complexity to customize. If your sales process is well defined so upon roll out, there is little change then there is no issue. However, if you are a startup or building out and revising your sales processes then you will experience frustration as either you need to spend the time and energy to make adjustments yourself or pay for NetSuite consultants to customize which isn't always in the budget for younger companies.

I think NetSuite is a fantastic tool. I think it fits perfect into mid-sized or even some small businesses that are mature in their processes so they can make the most of the initial setup and roll out. Also have the budget for add-on features to help bring NetSuite to better in class status, like Icharts reporting or celigo for their connector between Google for Work apps and NetSuite. If you need flexibility or want automation and customization to be easier then you may want to look for alternative products, however none of the alternatives out there, to my knowledge, will run you "soup-to-nuts" (CRM to ERP).
We use NetSuite to run our financials, CRM, time tracking and rely on the projects to track our language classes. Most full-time staff have NetSuite accounts. Using projects, we can track important information on language training, our core business.
Pros
Real-time data: though is getting to be the status quo for business these days, NS has always had it.
Customization: you can create custom fields and records for your own particular business needs.
Saved searches and reports: fairly easy to create and run; created email alerts to go out to staff, customers showing important changes in data, reminders.
Reliability: it has a great up-time percentage.
Cons
e-Commerce site hard to customize.
Record forms all look so alike a novice user gets confused and lost many times (better iconography, color schemes, etc. may be needed).
Page loads can be ridiculously long.
You can't export a record to PDF and customize the look and feel without using scripting and XML.
Moving fields around on entry forms requires tons of patience.

Great for a company that has geographically separated organizations, offices, sections, etc.
