I am an HR Administrator at my organization responsible for overseeing quarterly and annual performance review process, exit interview process, managing and tracking leave, state registration for income tax withholding, benefits administration, inputting salary increases and promotions, org chart, password reset, etc. I am the go-to person for all things Namely.
Pros
UX interface
New interactive org chart
Customer service- non benefits related
Cons
Customer service- benefits related
State registration. The Help Community is helpful but a designated support team would be more impactful.
Likelihood to Recommend
Namely is well suited for small companies just beginning an HR department

We use Namely as sort of a recordkeeper for employee information and Namely Time for timesheets. We needed a way for employees to record their hours spent on client projects and time off. We do not use Namely for payroll.
Pros
Social media type home page with birthdays and anniversaries
Easy to view employee information
Onboarding new employees
Cons
In benefits administration, in life insurance and disability sections, there's no option to include employees' bonuses as earnings. Therefore, employees' coverage and premiums are all incorrect.
Time off recorded in Namely Time does not transfer to HRIS, resulting in employees needing to enter their time off twice - in Namely Time and in their Time Off section of Namely.
In Namely Time, only the previous week can be copied into the current week. It would be helpful if time recorded could be copied to any week.
Likelihood to Recommend
Namely is pretty easy to use, but there are some areas that could be improved. Namely Time could be more streamlined with Namely HRIS. Benefits administration is a little difficult to use.

It creates ease with onboarding and handbook management. In my opinion, it is the worst at benefit management particularly offboarding.
Pros
onboarding
Cons
benefits
off boarding-removing terminated employees from plans
Likelihood to Recommend
In my opinion, we would not use them at the level of service we are getting. In my experience, response is slow, they are a middle man and not able to personally do actions, they wait for others to respond and do not manage the response is received.
I use Namely for HR, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and time tracking. We used to be at ADP, a done-for-you PEO. I prefer the DIY platform of Namely, both for the direct control and broad array of services and benefits choices I can offer to our employees and for the direct control by employees to log hours and get any information they need without needing to bother anyone in the HR department.
Pros
Benefits offerings to employees.
Integration of payroll and time tracking.
Website layout.
Ease of registering employees in more than one state.
Cons
At the conclusion of onboarding sessions, they always ask, "do you have any questions" but the sessions are scheduled with a 'hard out" so it can sometimes feel like questions would take too long.
Every communication needs to be written on their platform. I would prefer just picking up the phone to ask a question. It would take less time to get the issue resolved.

Our overall experience has been very positive. Our accounting department used to handle every issue related to HR, benefits, payroll, etc. But with the Namely platform, employees can input all information right into the website and access any information they need. As a supervisor who approves PTO/Vacations, the platform is super-easy to use.
We used this to take care of HR activities including remuneration and taking care of time off, etc. This is also referred for bulk employee management in the organization.
Pros
Time Off Management
Payment activities
Talent management
Workforce management
Cons
This can be more GUI improved.
More publicity and an increase in the number of users will create opportunities to add more features.
Unique number identification for employee will be an add on advantage.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for payroll management. Adjusting time off of the employee. Talent management. It helps in managing the employee rating in an efficient manner. Its ability to integrate features with other softwares is an add-on advantage.
The business problems Namely addressed are performance reviews, requesting time off, automating onboarding new hire paperwork, some helpful diversity stats, and creating an org chart.
Pros
New hire onboarding and paperwork
Performance reviews
Custom reports
Cons
Requesting time off
Adding job history
Converting from temp to FT
Likelihood to Recommend
Namely is well suited for new hire onboarding and performance reviews in particular. It's a great one-stop hub for important, general info about a hire (job title, start date, etc.) We do not use it for payroll or benefits, so I cannot speak on that.

Namely is being used across the whole organization for onboarding, document storage, appraisals, staff updates, and US payroll and benefits.
Pros
User-friendly.
Nice graphics.
Onboarding
Cons
Document storage - create various folders in the resources section and limit the visibility of these to a few authorized users.
Integration with DocuSign.

Being US software, it can’t be used for EU payroll. It’d be good to access staff photos that are posted on the home page via a cloud library. It'd be good if the software could integrate with DocuSign.
Namely is used by our entire company, it is what HR uses for payroll and benefits. The software allows for direct deposit and easy changes to direct deposit. I have used it a few times to make changes to the amounts or % going into a specific account.
Pros
HR/IRS documentation.
Changes to direct deposit.
Benefits tracking.
Access to payroll transactions.
Cons
I don't have any really, just limitations on the information my company places there.
Likelihood to Recommend
Namely is a great overall HR/Payroll tool. It does a wonderful job of creating our paystubs and keeping a history of them accessible while allowing for easy changes to where you want your pay to go. An explanation of benefits is also great in terms of what you are enrolled in. I believe my company is the one that doesn't actually upload the benefits information breakdown in Namely. That would be one item that I think would be helpful to include in our instance.
We migrated to Namely for the HRMS functionality. Namely has been a great HRMS platform for SMB customers. It is easy to use and our employees have adopted it well. In addition, we migrated our payroll services as a cost-saving measure. It is very helpful to have all HR and payroll information so easily accessible.
Pros
Employee recognition.
HR documentation management.
Payroll visibility.
Cons
Performance management.
Recruiting

I think Namely is a great product especially for companies with less than 250 users. It gives great visibility to all employees, easily manages onboarding and time off, and is easy to use. As you get above 250 users or if you are having extreme growth, it can be a little challenging due to the lack of recruiting features.
