Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company is web service agency and we have access to quite a lot of servers for different clients. There both Windows and linux servers, meaning that you need different tools in order to connect to them.
To make things worse, you have to group them and remember which server does what and which credentials to use for them.

MobaXTerm solves this issue easily.

Pros

  • SSH server connection
  • RemoteDesktop connections
  • Grouping of servers to folders
  • Tabbing interface with ability to move windows outside
  • Remembering passwords

Cons

  • Tunnneling configuration is not so easy to use - would be nice to update it
  • Automatic updates

Likelihood to Recommend

MobaXTerm is good if you want to have list of servers and want to easily manage them and connect to them from the same interface. This is especially good for solo developers

MobaXTerm might be not work if you want to share list of connections to the large team with granual control of what can see which server.
