Pros

Lots of features / tools - able to design a lot of different things, and integrate different mediums, lots off opportunity to customize (color, scale, etc.)
Fast, responsive - usually doesn't lag, can operate well even when there are a number of users

Cons

Different view / functional options for different types of users. When delivering a workshop, we've been begging for a while now for Miro to create a simplified toolbar for participants. They really only need to use stickies, vote functions, and navigate around the board.
Table function could still use some work
Being able to export a frame as a word document would be cool!

Likelihood to Recommend

Overall very versatile and powerful application, with a lot of functions that make it a great one-stop-shop for various activities including workshop design and delivery, brainstorming and planning, and prototyping and design. The flexibility of function makes it great for when I am thinking expansively and need a tool that can do various things to keep up with my brainstorm / not be limited by the specific functions of traditional applications which are often designed for specific mediums (word docs, excels, visual applications, etc.).

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Miro board for brainstorming, to facilitate collaboration in meetings, for retros, and to create deliverables like process diagrams, among other things. It's a great replacement for in-person collaboration tools like whiteboards and sticky notes, but also has a clear overlap with productivity tools and systems like Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio.

Making the process of sharing the board with the right people smoother as recently I have not remember to add people individually so something like "choose who to share with" when setting up a board would be useful

Less appropriate: When a meeting is more relations and requires interpersonal focus then it's better to just be on camera and look at the other person while speaking rather than use a tool to look at.

We use Miro as collaborative digital whiteboarding software. The product has enabled us to host collaborative meetings, workshops, and brainstorming sessions. We have also been able to plan and run agile projects and efficiently map every process. Miro reduces overall workflow completion time and ensures better project evaluation and contracting.

Pros

The software is easier to integrate and deploy.
Miro is a simple but effective collaboration tool. The product allows quick flow map analysis and enables us to convert unstructured data into actionable insights that aid in proper decision-making.
The software's customer support services are better. They respond on time, and they are very professional.

Cons

The software user interface becomes cluttered from time to time, especially when working on huge, complex diagrams.
Software dependency on an Internet connection is a major problem, especially for users who live in areas with poor network infrastructure.
New users may find dragging and shifting tools challenging. The software's pricing is also higher than that of similar systems.

Likelihood to Recommend

Miro software has various customizable templates that aid in real-time collaboration. Availability of unlimited integration options and reliable support services. Versatility of the tool and seamless integration with other softwares. The real-time collaboration features of the software stand out, allowing efficient teamwork without location limitations and enhancing the effectiveness of some features of the product, such as ER diagramming tools and virtual whiteboards.

Used in a variety of ways: - facilitating black belt process improvement projects - brainstorming ideas for processes, events, and projects - creating interactive tools that are saved as templates to improve efficiency - sharing project information with various groups to help them collaborate outside of regular meetings.

Cons

Steep learning curve.
Accessing certain functionalities require too many clicks.
Licensing is confusing.
Lack of canadian based servers makes it harder to obtain approvals in government.

It's well-suited for remote work/hybrid, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. However, it can be difficult to get some people to participate if it's their first time, and it requires extra training to get people up to speed instead of jumping in on the project at hand.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Miro in a number of different ways. On a weekly basis we review and discuss our planning in a visual way. This makes it easy for 6 teams 35people total to get an understand of who is doing what AND have an indication of the workload of each team. On a daily basis we use it as a collaboration tool between team members and across teams. We collect links to other tools and documents in the corresponding overviews or collaboration whiteboards. Personally I also use Miro to create presentations and trainings as everything is collected in one place and it allows me to create visual presentations effortlessly.

Pros

Encourage visual thinking and working.
Provide a flexible tool to collaborate easily.
Intuitive workflow, low barrier to onboard/ 'train' new members.
Support links to other documents, often visually.
Give a level of play to digital workshops/meetings/collaborations.

Cons

Editorial rights, as an expert user I want to help others (the creators) of the file but I'm not able to start timers or lock certain templates.
Anonymous voting is great, but we still prefer (visual) voting dots.
Ordering presentations from left to right/top to bottom with a button in stead of ordering one by one.
Export to pdf, if you make a presentation to export parts of it easily. The 'export selected' has not once worked for me.

Likelihood to Recommend

I will always recommend Miro for most collaboration and visual workshops or meetings. Often I use it as a great cut and paste whiteboard to collect information / insights or even analyse interviews with customers. It's great for visual thinkers/learners.

I won't recommend Miro as a planning tool with deadlines, as a CRM replacement (most of the time) or a follow up tool.
Nor as a dashboard, but great as a 'design'/discussion tool for how that dashboard should look/work.

I use Miro daily to stay organized, creating mind maps, to-do lists, tracking weekly tasks, and team planning. Our entire team uses it to keep track of weekly tasks and priorities, and Miro has greatly improved our collaborative workflow. We also use it to map out our department’s strategy, including the sales funnel and customer journey within our company.

We use Miro for solo work, collaboration, and playbacks. Everywhere from project initiation and planning through to sharing project results. It is an excellent tool for sharing and capturing information and collating it into meaningful and easily accessible themes for the rest of the team and the greater organization. We use Miro for most projects and meetings.

Pros

Miro is a great tool that bridges the gaps of many other tools.
In collaboration, you can see what your teammates are working on in real-time.
Handles different formats well - tables, images, text, post-its, PDF etc.

Cons

Tables can sometimes be clumsy, but this has recently been improved.
The max paste limit for text could be larger.
Better application of organization brand in tool.

It does everything I need and more for my job. It exceeds my expectations, and when I look to do something new 9/10, it does it out of the box.

Working out ideas or solutions to problems that are brought to us
We even have a book Library on Miro (linked to a real physical library)

Diagramming (any sorts)
Voting and timing (during online meetings)
Mindmapping (with the AI tool)

Cons

I'm missing the tool to just draw a line (not from box to box), for the moment I create a rectangle shape and make it small enough so it becomes a line
Missing checkboxes (or I didn't find it yet?)
Assigning stories to multiple people (only possible with labels)

In my job I will put the diagramming and brainstorming on top as it's the core item that is used in our team for the moment. I love the freedom the tools gives, together with the multiple solutions the themes (such as colors and boxes) can give. I'm a graphic designer myself, I love how my creativity can be used in the board without too much limitations.
