We have multiple uses for Sharepoint. We use it for For storing information securely for organizing and sharing with others for creating internal websites for project collaboration.
Pros
Access management.
easily customizable
Mutli-purpose functionalities
Cons
User interface.
Its integration with non Microsoft tools.
although it is highly customizable, it is not easy to do so.

I would recommend SharePoint for the following scenarios; You want secure cloud-based storage you want enhanced access management and security. You want to easily share and collaborate with other projects; You want to enhance productivity.
We have run several joint projects with business partners. Data exchange and report sharing are always issues since data sets are rather large. Most business associates have had experience with SharePoint so deploying a SharePoint solution for each project has been very successful. Data was easily exchanged, all staff could easily get to information and it served as an information repository for staff entering the project late. Very easy to set up and administer.
Pros
Many templates available that are easy to deploy.
Cloud SharePoint is easy to scale and the managed solution minimizes IT resource requirements.
No steep learning curves.
Cons
It requires some discipline for the users to keep things organized. Some automation templates and features that are easy to deploy could help.
Some admin features to have user access expire instead of having to go in and lockout users as projects transition.
More sync and backup from cloud to in-house systems.
Likelihood to Recommend
Has been very successful for us to deploy in projects with external partners. For in house projects we still prefer to use file servers and email.
Microsoft SharePoint is used throughout the enterprise for the management of reports and data that are generated in Microsoft Office 365 applications and stored on it for security and quality issues. With this, we can share with remote locations in real-time in a safe and fast way.
Pros
The security they provide for the data stored on it due to the protocols followed by Microsoft.
The facility is based on the tools of Office 365, which makes this service simpler when they are together.
The last editing of a certain file, since this allows you to control any type of failure that occurs.
Cons
Maybe improve the speed of actions on the files. Sometimes when we move some files it may take a little longer than expected and when it is moved you also no longer have this file in the source folder, so you end up thinking that you lost.
Permissions can be difficult to control, sometimes some people are granted permission to access a folder by accident.
Advanced technical skills are often required to manage such software.

Microsoft SharePoint has invested a lot to be what it is, for example, all that security and stability. It is software that caters to any company with all the resources available, it may be that some companies do not use all of them. It just is not as suitable for other platforms as Mac or Linux.
MS Sharepoint is being used by our entire organization, every department. With MS Sharepoint we can integrate with MS Excel, and with Office 365, so as I do my projects in MS Excel I can share them in MS Sharepoint. The good thing about MS Sharepoint is that all the data is uploaded to the cloud through the internet portal, so anyone with authorization can access anytime. Furthermore, as I work with VBA and MS Excel, there are some projects that I need to upload a series of files to the cloud, and MS Sharepoint gives me that possibility.
Pros
With MS Sharepoint you can share (in my case) projects, initiative trackers, with ID and the information I need to start my developing.
It offers cloud acaccessibility, so you do not need to maintain your documents on your hard drive.
It allows Office 365 integration, which for me is really great. Using MS Excel and MS Sharepoint.
Cons
If you are going to implement its intranet system, you may have some problems, Microsoft actually discourages that from happening.
Sometime if you need to search, it requires a lot of internal customization.
Social networking is separated from the rest of the intranet.
Sometimes when you need to upload a great number of files, it becomes slow, and even some files do not upload, so you need to upload them manually.
Likelihood to Recommend
MS Sharepoint is well suited in situations where you need to share files and directories with other people in your company. MS Sharepoint can upload file to the cloud, so if you do not have many space in hard drive it will be good to reduced your hard drive used, uploading files to MS Sharepoint. People can access MS Sharepoint anytime and anywhere, they just need the right permission.
Simplifies collaboration. All files can be added to the document library through drag-and-drop, copying files into a synced folder on your desktop, or by using various Office apps on desktop or mobile devices. Keeping a log of who made edits and letting you download previous editions of your document to review changes or return to a previous revision. This allows collaborators to share information, save time and resources from your computer or mobile.
Pros
Save multiples versions of files, change controls performed by each person.
Protection for the relevant documents allows us to export them to present them by other means.
By using Flow, you can send approval requests when documents are loaded to a library, integrate with forms to route information to the appropriate person.
Cons
Pricing is dependent on the deployment model chosen: on-premise, subscription, and hybrid.
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of introducing a SharePoint based solution, deployment often takes many months or years.
It requires advanced technical skills to develop and manage.

SharePoint offers a variety of functionality, it can be built to integrate with existing business systems such as a CRM or ERP system. This makes access to information easier when connecting data from different systems. MS SharePoint provides the building blocks for multiple types of enterprise solutions such as an intranet, portal, document manager, or collaboration workspace.
In these moments, we find a pilot test in a department of the production area. We are automating several processes that are key in the company. Up to now, we have made significant changes, improving product review time, reducing project delays. It is an excellent tool, but you must have people trained in the implementation to ensure that the change in the company is simple and taken without much rejection by end users.
Pros
It is a versatile tool, it allows creating workflows that support and streamline project management. It allows you to create documents and carry out your change control. You can establish checkpoints of the revision which makes it more efficient to know who has the document, how long the process lasted and send the client the document with the latest version.
It is part of the Office platform and integrates with other MS applications, which makes it easy for users.
From the point of view of performance and security, SharePoint is the best product for any organization.
Cons
To implement it in small companies is expensive because it requires a specialized technical support team to configure to measure, manage and ensure that the tool runs without a problem.
It is not easy to configure custom forms. There are some lists that are inflexible. To search efficiently, you need a lot of internal customization.
It takes a lot of time to achieve the personalization of the application, since it requires a lot of configuration and training of the staff, added to the development effort to achieve the correct configuration.

If you require a single intranet, SharePoint is an excellent option.
Create electronic forms which decrease the use of paper, it is very easy to share files and information throughout the organization, which improves collaboration between departments.
Because it is an MS tool, it connects the SharePoint calendars with the Outlook calendar.
It is suitable when the company has offices in several countries since synchronizing SharePoint content is one of its best features.
SharePoint is used across our organization as the company's internal intranet. It is primarily used for communication and disseminating information, due to the large spread of our organization across 32 states. It is also used for collecting information via surveys, document libraries, etc.
Pros
SharePoint lists/surveys are extremely helpful for tracking purposes
Document libraries are useful, particularly in situations where organizations do not have a shared drive that all employees can access
Permissions in SharePoint make it very easy to restrict access to content as needed
Cons
SharePoint workflows perform well for the most part, but can be a bit temperamental
SharePoint does not offer full functionality in any other browser besides Internet Explorer

Particularly in larger organizations, it would be best to have at least one resource (person) dedicated specifically to supporting SharePoint. Our organization has been without such a resource for over a year, and it has been tough to get things done from an end user perspective. It is also important to provide training to users before they start accessing SharePoint. It is fairly intuitive for basic tasks, but for anyone who will be creating/administering subsites or other content on a regular basis, they should definitely be trained before being set loose in a live environment.
It is being used by our entire organization. It is solving multiple business problems as we have many manual paper processes throughout the company. Additionally, our users complain that file shares are a mess. It is hard to find content. Sometimes, when they do find the content they are looking for, there are multiple copies of the same file and they are not sure what file to use. There is a lot of duplication of content across all departments.
Pros
The ability to control documents and the collaboration process. Capturing version history is a big deal for our organization.
The ability to share documents without sending attachments through emails. We have a major problem with mail storage. Moving to SharePoint has helped us alleviate this as instead of sending documents through email, users are sending a link to the document.
Cons
Anything missing can really be accomplished by developing your own solutions or purchasing an add-on product. SharePoint is just a platform for you to build it as you see fit to meet business needs.

SharePoint can become an unmanageable beast VERY quickly. Every organization implementing SharePoint should take the time to write a Governance Plan that is appropriate for the application of SharePoint within the organization. There are a lot of resources on the internet that help with this. However, don't just copy a governance plan off the internet, change some names and call it a day. It should be custom to your organization and the vision and plan for the use of SharePoint. This Governance Plan should include what SharePoint will and will not be used for, how it will be used, and it should be reviewed and updated frequently. Also, it should not just be a written plan that is never read by end users. Governance should be engrained into training.
Always remember - no matter what anyone tells you, SharePoint is not the be all, end all. Requirements should be gathered
BEFORE making the decision to move to SharePoint and/or build a solution
on SharePoint.
