Mostly as the name suggests Power Automate helped me manage my clients tasks by automating them. One such scenario of i define would be automating a email and message trigger if a report takes longer than usual to refresh. Automate helped me creates those scenarios woth least coding and best results with all process working seamlessly automatically as programmed.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Power Automate fills a vital gap where teams can develop various workflows between systems that our technology team hasn't integrated, and we need automation. This is most useful with HR and L&D processes such as onboarding, induction, and employee exit. It helps us automate repetitive tasks, like updating a database of employee records, sending data to webhooks based on a set trigger, moving data from one system to another, and automating enrolment actions in our LEARN365, our LMS platform. Power Automate stands out for its ability to integrate with multiple systems, close gaps in our existing technology configuration, and give more flexibility to people's data.

  • Little to no coding knowledge required to get started.
  • Lots of templates and online support resources available.

Cons

  • Steep learning curve.
  • It can be slow to develop simple solutions compared to other automation platforms such as Smarsheet.
  • Troubleshooting and developing can be frustrating without proper access to edit the code directly.
  • Only able to edit through the GUI and with expressions.
  • Many ways to do the same thing can be frustrating when you need to rework your flow.

We use Microsoft Power Automate to share alerts, reports from Powerbi whenever a KPI has crossed a target or seeks attention. When we conduct surveys on feedback of processes and improvements areas it helps to connect with Forms & SharePoint to records the data. It helps in web scraping and save time.

  • The new interface has limited actions making modifications hard. one has to change to the old feature before features can be found

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Microsoft Power Automate to automate some data task. An example for this is to automate storing of CSV and JSON files to database that is sent via email. Another is to use this in sending email or notification to our end users. And lastly is sending of Power BI report in form of PDF with different applied filters per recipient. This really helps a lot and powerful to manage basic data automation.
