Fast enough with large datasets, works really well with multiple data sources especially for an organization like us with multiple data sources. It also allows to create interactive, user-friendly dashboards that allow stakeholders to explore data in real-time but leaves something be desired for when it comes to available BI options as charts are limited with not much flexibility in terms of creating dimension and measures.
Looker is our go-to tool for reporting on all the users' data in our platforms. We use it to get instantaneous information about specific aspects in each platform, and we also use it to build dashboards and reports that provide us with both realtime and historical insights for specified periods of time. The level of granularity Looker provides is awesome because we can drill down on events and extract much more detailed information.
Pros
Creating visuals and tiles that help you understand your data with just a glance.
The ability to quickly add and remove filters, and measures to your existing reports and being able to start from one point and go from there instead of starting from scratch.
It's fairly fast, especially when dealing with huge amount of data.
Cons
Some filters don't work the way you expect them to so you will have to think o fa workaround.
Sometimes the report crashes if the complexity of the calculation is quite large.
It's not easy to merge fields or pivot on them.
Likelihood to Recommend
Looker is great for creating a lot of reports that have low to medium complexity. It starts glitching or timing out if the complexity of the calculations is high.
Building my own dashboard to monitor campaign performance and simply have an overview of campaign , ad group, account structure and details. Connecting it with google sheet and data sources is fast and easy way to conduct analysis. Whenever other company dashboard is being updated too slowly, Looker is our fast way.
Pros
easily connecting to different data sources
as soon as data is updated in big query Looker gets updated too
easy interface and friendly to new users
Cons
I can't copy past the tables and graphs
I can't connect table or graph to my slide and get auto updates
design and font and be improved or have more variaties
Likelihood to Recommend
Good for self exploration on marketing campaign data, but it is difficult to share it via google slides. For example, I can come to my dashboard for week on week performance, but if I want to add this to my slides, the only way is to make a screenshot of it every week.
We use Looker Studio to create reports especially ones that connect to other Google products but not exclusive to them. Its also an easy way to share reports/dashboards with stakeholders. Its not simply for small reports, the ability to make multiple pages to cover various channels. Additionally, you can create custom metrics.
Pros
Reporting
Analytics
Insights
Cons
Insights
Graphs
Combining metrics and figuring out the percent change.

Looker Studio is not the best tool out there but its really good and its free. Add in connectors to other platforms and you start getting a robust tool that reports on your website, Pay Per Click ads, YouTube metrics, YouTube ads, and many other platforms. Not to mention an easy link that anyone can access and share.
We use Looker to build dashboards to visualize data and analyze product usage for internal customers in our company. It allows us to customize different chart types in a clearer way for reading and has the user interface of other Google family products.
Pros
Dashboards
Customization
Data Analysis.
Traffic Analysis.
Cons
User interface is outdated.
Likelihood to Recommend
Looker will be much more practical than a simple spreadsheet when working with a large volume of information. Its ability to integrate with spreadsheets and Google Analytics or take data from websites and landing pages makes it easier to build several tables and graphs on a single page.

We use Looker Studio with connectors for Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other advertising platforms to create dashboards featuring key performance indicators (KPIs) for our digital marketing agency clients. The tool provides us with real-time insights and assists in planning future actions. It also facilitates dashboard sharing and offers customization and flexibility for any report we wish to generate.
Pros
google analytics connector.
Customizable interface.
Collaboration and sharing.
Cons
Initial setup.
Learning curve.
Performance with large data sets.
Likelihood to Recommend
As a free product, Looker Studio is recommended for creating dashboards for digital marketing campaigns. By learning the interface a bit, dashboards can be developed that can be analyzed and improved thanks to the customization options Looker Studio offers. One advantage is the ability to connect Google Analytics with just one click, and the pre-designed templates save us time.
We use Looker for data and reporting analysis for Google Ad Manager mainly to streamline all reporting into one dashboard with nice charts and graphs. Many publishers would like to see reporting in one dashboard, and GAM does not provide that easily. We build out custom reports that each pub wants to see and tailor them to their needs and wants. We use this across 40-60 publishers.
Pros
Nice Visual Reporting.
Easy Access.
All In One Dashboard Reporting.
Cons
There can be improvement on the ways that data is pulled in.
Filters that can be used inside Looker can be improved —sometimes, it is tough to get down to the granularity we want.
Improving the apps that can be brought into Looker.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think it is a great free tool to use instead of paying Domo or Staq a large monthly fee to accomplish sometimes the same or similar things. I understand that as a free tool, there are always going to be limitations, but for basic reporting to pull all into one dashboard to include interactive charts and graphs, it is a great tool for advertisers and publishers alike.
We use Looker to create prettier charts and at-a-glance visualizations/reports and cross-reference more data than our database can. It's helpful to allow non-data people to have better insight into data through reports rather than spreadsheets. Making reports is also easy; so many "data people" across the school have made them, not just those of us in IT.
Pros
Easy to create visualizations.
Easy to link to Google Sheets data.
Reasonably strong reporting calculations and visualizations.
Cons
Reports break easily if changes are made to the data sheet.
It may not be able to connect directly to your system of record; you need to use Google Sheets/BigQuery/etc as an intermediary.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need basic reporting to share data, with the ability to click into detail or filter, this is your best bet. It's easy to use and update the data. Just be careful that sheets are appropriately shared and not updated inadvertently; fixing the report after that point can be difficult.
I create a visual presentation of data each quarter to present to leadership. It's especially great to highlight my monthly metrics and showcase how I'm going above and beyond the current expectations for my goals. It allows me to show how consistent my data is for each day, not condensed into only a few days of productivity over a month.
Pros
Visually engaging.
Minimal background noise, use of white space is great.
Easy to upload data from different sources.
Cons
Massive amount of data being automatically uploaded on a regular cadence.
Likelihood to Recommend
Easy, free tool to upload data to be presented and highlight critical factors.
