Jabra Speak Series 510 - Reliable Conference Tool with 360 Degree Experience

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have a setup in our conference room where we use Jabra Speak Series 510 along with zoom and a video conferencing system. This is specifically used with our board members or management team want to have a conference call with external clients, international donor organizations or local government officials. This is a full video conferencing setup and the Jabra Speak Series 510 is used as the speaker and central microphone in the conference hall.

Pros

  • We do not need lots of microphones (specially in each chair). One Jabra Speak Series 510 is placed in the table and that's enough to get the conversation going. This 360 degree voice pickup is amazing.
  • The noise and environmental chaose is nicely filtered by Jabra Speak Series 510. The voice is clear to the other end and vice versa.
  • There is a voice assistant that guides the users.
  • It's very easy to setup. All you need is a bluetooth connection and it's setup with your PC. We have a PC display board and we use zoom in that and we connect the Jabra Speak Series 510 through a jabra dongle.
  • The cost of the setup was very low compared to a huge microphone based system like avaya.

Cons

  • We felt that there should be a small remote control type thing that can give the user flexibility of not getting up to manage the Jabra Speak Series 510.
  • It seems like a longshot but Jabra Speak Series should come with it's own bluetooth and should not depend on a Jabra dongle. I know it's good to sell accessories but this is a suggestion that Jabra should think more about.
  • We are in south asia (Bangladesh) and getting after sales service here is tough. Jabra can look into it.
  • The speak needs to be splash resistant.

Return on Investment

  • The investment of a Jabra Speak Series 510 is very miniscule compared to our overall business investment. So, it is not relevant. However, if you think about cost cutting, this is a good solution because it's far better than Avaya or Cisco in both range, price and technical features.
  • We are a software company with many clients living abroad. So, a reliable audio conferencing tool is very much needed for us. Jabra Speak Series 510 is a handy tool for it.
  • The device is plug and play and works well with platforms like Zoom, Teams and Google Meet. It's robust and takes very little space.

Jabra Speak Series - Good for anything but Teams

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

For remote employes, we issued Jabra Speak Series 75 headsets to them. The noise cancelling and boom arm microphone do a fantastic job of making calls easy to hear and easy for others to understand. They are comfortable and lightweight and have a high sound quality. However, the software for PC is abysmal. There are significant issues when using Teams and computer sound, despite the Teams friendly software they boast. Sound often cuts out, is garbled, or switches between the Teams call and the computer at varying volumes, leading to quiet calls and max volume notifications. I have sent multiple tickets to Jabra on this issue and called repeatedly- to no avail. There has been no contact, follow-up, or resolution.

Pros

  • Sound Quality
  • High Resolution Microphone
  • Pass Through Audio

Cons

  • Jabra Software
  • Teams Call Support
  • Multiple Device Connections
  • Jabra Connect App Support

Return on Investment

  • Quick call connectivity
  • Clear audio
