Sage Intacct functions as a comprehensive financial management system, primarily for organizations managing daily transactions, strategic analysis, and complex multi-entity structures. In TrustRadius reviews, its robust financial reporting and analysis capabilities are frequently highlighted, with 42% noting its flexibility for custom reports and contribution to profitability. Many users also value its multi-entity management for efficient intercompany consolidation and its integration with other software.
Reviewers frequently note significant time savings from efficiency and automation, especially in accounts payable and general ledger processes. However, a common concern is the complexity of reporting, with 42% finding custom report creation challenging without specialized skills. Data manipulation after transactions are posted also presents difficulties. Despite these areas for improvement, the overall sentiment indicates that Sage Intacct generally facilitates positive impacts on business objectives through enhanced reporting and efficiency gains.
Pros
Robust and customizable financial reporting and dashboards
Efficient multi-entity and global consolidation management
User-friendly interface for core accounting functions
Strong integration capabilities with other software
Automation of Accounts Payable and General Ledger processes
Cons
Complexity of custom reporting and dashboard creation

We use Sage Intacct to raise and approve purchase transactions, manage inventory transactions and to allocate payments and receipts. It is also used to provide key financial reports such as P&L, Balance Sheet, General Ledger, Trial Balance etc which allows us to reconcile our accounts. Additionally, we make use of the Fixed Asset Tool within Intacct to post depreciation and maintain the fixed asset register. Finally, we have built some ad-hoc custom reporting for business analysis purposes, such as committed spend, profitability analysis, etc.
Pros
Clear hierarchy of general ledger accounts
Clear chain of approval including approval limits
All postings instantly show in reports rather than having to do an overnight refresh, etc
Wide range of criteria for custom reporting
Cons
Manufacturing and inventory functions are limited
Scenario planning isn't compatible with the standard package
Dashboard functionality could be improved
Likelihood to Recommend
It is currently fit for purpose for the type of business that we operate in, where there are a small number of transactions on a daily basis and minimal inventory holdings. If there was to be added complexity introduced into the business and we started to manufacture product ourselves rather than procuring finished goods then I believe that it would be less appropriate to use this system.

We use it as our main transaction platform for sales, invoicing, stock management, ordering, etc.
It allows us to keep track of all the ins and outs of our business which makes sales and stock management more efficient versus doing everything on manual paperwork.
As a sales rep it makes my job much easier because I can process an invoice much faster, with the system automatically doing stock calculations and product values I don't have to worry about invoice totals being incorrect or working it out by hand. It also makes it easier for me to keep track of the products we have on offer and the stock we have available.

I think for a small home based business Sage Intacct won't be feasible, however when expanding Sage Intacct can expand with your business.
We use Sage Intacct at the heart of our operation. All sales are done using Intacct. We also use it for stock availability. This makes Quoting/Invoicing very easy as we do not need to rely on our warehouse for constant stock counts of individual line items. Further than these features we can also use Intacct for internal messaging which is very valuable when our logistics department has loaded new shipments into the system which the sales team can then begin selling.
Pros
Quotes
Invoices
Support
Cons
Stock availability when checking item codes before entering the item into the quote/invoice.
More detailed descriptions of the item before entering the item into the quote/invoice.
Community messages more user friendly - "Mark all messages as read"

Intacct is great for growing businesses with many branches and possible branches to be opened in the future. It really allows teams to communicate well together in the company using the internal community features. Most of the issues experienced thus far have mainly been as a result of implementation misunderstandings.
Its been a month since we started with Intacct and we are still experiencing a few issues. We have a team who are helping us and working through the issues. So far the system is good to use in some aspects but there are some that are too overly complicated and makes using the system hard.
Pros

Cons
Ease of access to information (Profile specific)
Layouts too complicated/ over detailed

Starting a business from Scratch. Transferring from another accounting system has been difficult. Small to medium businesses.

Works well for us in the restaurant industry because we have more than one location and Sage Intacct is able to handle our scalability.
I would however say that it can seem overwhelming as the user interface can be plain or not friendly for users at times. Would love to see it revamped and modernized.
