Infor CloudSuite ERP - a way to move from Excel and paper towards Digitalisation

Rating: 5 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using M3, Ming.le, and Document Management.
It serves as our main ERP, and we use it for everything. Almost all things go through M3 at ESAB Europe. Orders, bookkeeping, claims (well, in this term, halfly), accounts payable and receivable & cash collection all happen through this.
Plus, in Europe, we need to connect everything - or customise them to be able to get connected - to this.

Pros

  • Order handling
  • Cash collection
  • Basic bookkeeping

Cons

  • Connectibility to other systems
  • Exception handling
  • AP & invoice management
  • Advanced bookkeeping needs
  • Task management
  • Workflow management

Likelihood to Recommend

I gave a 5 because i have seen colleagues from companies we have bought working with papers and excels plus emails. Now, compared to that, Infor ERP solutions are saviors from heaven. However, if I compare it to Oracle or SAP... meh, let's just not get into it. My main problem with it is the lack of possibility to connect it with other systems [like group reporting systems, automation tools, workflow options]. It is simply having such a different 'way-of-coding' that you have a real hard time if you want to automate a process which touches M3. Like an automatic workflow. Or to book journals with the help of RPA [robotics]. Simply put, this could be a great 'get-into-the-ERP-business' tool, but not an advanced 'use-this-to-lead' kind of tool.

Show Me the Data

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Cloudsuite ERP for warehouse and distribution, production planning and inventory, supply chain and logistics, sales and financials. specifically to ensure full traceability from raw materials to final product, improve production planning to reduce waste and forecast demand more accurately to optimize inventory.

Our business problems include but not restricted to:
1) Lot level tracking from farm to bottle
2) Country of origin tracking
3) Blend management
4) Cost model of average cost and standard cost used simultaneously.

Pros

  • Inventory management. We have seen a 30% reduction in scrap as compared to our previous ERP
  • Production efficiency. The use of virtual tanks and backflushing have enabled us to move to 24x7 operations without the need to stop and audit every variance.
  • 3rd party integration. We rely heavily on 3rd party systems for EDI, banking, TMS, and TPM. Without the capability to integrate with a cloud instance we would be spending an inordinate amount of time facilitating the move met of data to a integration platform to facilitate the data transfer.

Cons

  • Integrated Business Planning. Specifically demand planning as it relates to forecasting using a TPM solution.
  • Reporting and Analytics. The Birst product included in the platform and the prepopulated dashboards are nowhere near sufficient to provide robust business reporting. Integration with Power BI or other analytical solutions avoids having to build an external data warehouse to mine relevant insights.
  • Named user license management. There is currently no dashboard or controlling mechanism to monitor license utilization versus subscription. We have been through 2 audits for license utilization and both revealed a deficit that we could have avoided had we had visibility to the license utilization.

Likelihood to Recommend

We have had great success with inventory management and production planning/execution. Also, data and system integrity have been key to our overall solution satisfaction. We struggle when it comes to reporting and analytics. The base product leaves room for improvement as much of the core reporting is not easily configurable and lacks the ability to scale forcing us to build a reporting model outside the solution.

We use the Infor CloudSuite ERP as our primary business system to facilitate all aspects of our business. The suite includes ERP, PLM, EAM, CRM and Infor OS applications. The entirety of our business processes from quote to cash are covered using these applications.

Pros

  • Handling all modes of discrete manufacturing.
  • Full coverage and understanding of costing.
  • Business process insights as to how the business actually functions.

Cons

  • Part revision considerations for Enterprise Planning.
  • A single source of business process definition across the suite of software.
  • Additional capabilities to handle complex pricing agreements.

Likelihood to Recommend

Infor CloudSuite ERP is well suited to handle any method or mode of manufacturing. The system is very capable in providing accurate insights into product and operational costing for our business. Some may find the flexibility to address these methods of manufacturing to be complex in operation.

Infor Cloud Suite the right approach to ERPs

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are implemented Cloud Suite Industrial Enterprise (LN) as a global hub for all of our business systems. We are nearing completion in multiple sites across North America and will be turning our sights to EMEA and APAC. A key differentiator for us was being able to leverage the Cloud Suite ecosystem, so it is more than just ERP. We are also leveraging Factory Track, Supplier Exchange, Rhythm eCommerce, the integrated document management and now the Infor MES platform. We expect to expand to even deeper functionality with WMS, CRM and the Velocity Suite to expand AI and automation in our Infor centric business systems hub.

Pros

  • Tailored for manufacturing companies
  • Multi-site, multi-company, multi-currency organizations
  • Streamlines and optimizes business processes
  • Tightly integrated to other Infor products reducing the need for integrations

Cons

  • Need to continue to improve and modernize the UI
  • Continue to expand the marketplace to leverage the developer community
  • Expand the service and warranty functionality (much customer variability here)

Likelihood to Recommend

Cloud Suite (LN) is perfect for mid-size and larger manufacturing companies. Infor has other Cloud Suite ERPs for other industries. This is a huge advantage of more general ERP platforms. Infor excels in complicated environments but can also support more simple needs. Infor also excels where there is a need to integrate to other platforms like MES, especially when connecting to other Infor products. That Cloud Suite ecosystem is the key. Where I wouldn't recommend the Cloud Suite is in business that want a generic ERP platform or want to maintain lots of customizations. Not sure why anyone would want to do that though as the Infor approach is just better.

Go Infor Cloudsuite to improve your business

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Infor handles the following areas in our business: Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, parts, service, sales. We also use it's addon products such as factory track for warehouse management and mobile field service for managing field service work. It facilitates data accessibility between departments and eliminates data silos. It is the primary system across our organization.

Pros

  • all in one solution
  • uptime and performance
  • ability to integrate with other systems.

Cons

  • integration is challenging and requires advanced knowledge
  • user interface is complicated by default
  • too many panels for a single process

Likelihood to Recommend

Infor Cloudsuite is well suited for Heavy Equipment dealers and companies involved in equipment rental. It also supports several other industries, but I am not as versed on those. It is very customizable and can be tailored to most any business. It has several tools to integrate with other systems albeit they take some advanced knowledge and skill to use successfully.
