Great Nutanix Solution

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use HYCU for on-Prem, cloud backups, and DR. The solution backs up our data and VMs to an on-Prem storage target, then copies the backup data to Azure. We’re able to restore data and spin up VMs in Azure even if our on-prem site is offline. We’re able to spin up VMs in case of DR within an hour or two.

Pros

  • Tiered backup policies
  • On-Prem backups
  • Cloud storage target backups

Cons

  • Better DR support guidance/best practices
  • Reporting isn’t straightforward and as customizable as I’d like
  • Including M365 backups without additional cost would be a big value add for us

Return on Investment

  • Reduced administrative overhead
  • Support is typically responsive
  • Enabled low RPO/RTO

Top Level Support and Easy Interface

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use HYCU for both on prem VM backups as well as Azure. This also backs up Oracle, SQL & AD applications. We back up to local disk targets as well as Azure Blob & Wasabi. I have found that the simpler the backup strategy and system, the less chance of overlooking something and more apt to test regularly.

Pros

  • Very easy product to use.
  • Support staff is very quick and responsive. Generally same day. And has phone support.
  • My customer success point of contact is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
  • They develop friendships with their customers.

Cons

  • I'd like to see lower annual costs.
  • The setup for Azure backups required a lot of assistance from Support.

Return on Investment

  • I trust this product to protect our organization if things go badly.
  • I am able to not lose sleep thinking about backups.
