We use Gusto for payroll, time keeping for hourly employees and for time off tracking, for monthly surveys, and for handbook and other procedural documents that need signature for HR tracking. I utilize Gusto for all of the above functionalities, from the employee side, as I am not an admin. I use the rainy day split for my paychecks to deposit funds in both my checking and savings accounts, and utilize the hourly clock in and out feature daily. The other functionalities I use, but they are on a monthly or annual cadence so that usage is not as frequent.
Pros
Time Tracking - I like that I can edit my entries, because I often forget to clock in and out and it is helpful to be able to line that up with my teams message time I let the team know I'm headed out. Its easy to fix which I appreciate.
The payroll seems to run smoothly.
Signing documents is easy.
Cons
I am unable to cancel my own PTO requests when I make a mistake, but I don't know if that is an admin setting or a functionality of Gusto
it was tricky to locate my past years annual review, but again, not sure if that is a functionality internally of our teams documentation or a Gusto thing.
Likelihood to Recommend
Gusto is useful for time tracking and quick review and edits, as well as payroll - easy to quickly review things and see if any adjustments are needed. I don't really have any major complaints.

Gusto is a site that I greatly enjoy using as an employee. I have had few if any difficulties in recording my hours and submitting forms. However, I cannot speak to what the platform is like from the position of a boss or manager.
Our nonprofit organization uses Gusto for a variety of human resources related purposes. These include tracking payroll and benefits, submitting and approving paid time off requests, recording performance reviews, and tracking job applications. This helps with internal communication and organization, while ensuring that there is accountability and legal compliance across the board.

Gusto is useful for a variety of human resources related purposes. These include tracking payroll and benefits, submitting and approving paid time off requests, recording performance reviews, and tracking job applications. I have had a positive experience managing time off requests and finding tax documents with relative ease. It is not the best hiring platform I have ever used.

The primary use case that I interact with Gusto for is tracking hours in hectic times. Working on a campaign with people across the country, it is very difficult to track hours worked and automate paychecks, but Gusto has made it so easy. There are also higher level benefits, and the operations team loves it
Pros
User interface
time tracking
paying on time
Cons
Website is often down
Better benefits explanation
nothing else i can think of

I think it is well suited for organizations that don't reach the economies of scale where it makes sense to have internal payroll. This could be non-profits and really anything else that needs a simple mechanism to make sure everyone is paid. It is probably a bit cheaper for very large firms to handle payroll a different way
