Not at all what I expected

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I tried out their software to send out W2's for a company I was working with. I first had to pay $385 to access the software when i didn't know if I was going forward with its use. I come to find out that they don't do multiple states and they don't do GA specifically. I was very astonished and quickly ask for a refund because the fee was to transmit the W2's. The hoops I had to jump through to get my money back was drastic and time consuming I am glad I did it with a credit card and had to dispute the charges. Two months later I get an invoice from the company saying that I owe $500 for Quickbooks. I have had an account with QB for 17yrs and never needed anything from this company. I called their account team to let them know and they said can we take your number down and we will look into it! If that is not an indication that their business is ... I don't have any words to say but to stay away in my opinion!

The whole idea of using the business to conduct business as an accounting firm just doesn't work. Now for other business that may want to use them for what I don't know give them a shot.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Business problems that the Greenshades product addresses is an add on tool for companies that process in house payroll by providing an employee self-service portal that allows for people to change their address, request vacation, view HR documents, change their W-4, and much more. Also, a tax module that helps with filings and payments.

Greenshades is well suited for companies that process payroll in house with an ERP system that Greenshades already has a built-in connector for. Greenshades is less suited for in house payroll where a connection is not already built.

  • I called customer support to ask about this and they hung up on me.

We used to have ADP for payroll, the gold standard. I guess to save a few bucks my company switched to Greenshades. From time to time my payroll stub does not show up on time. I asked my HR department about this and was told they are not fond of Greenshades. I call Greenshades to ask about the delay. They do not have any support contact information on the employee website I use to get my payroll information. I had to google them and found a support contact on their website. Not good. When I spoke to someone to ask about the pay stub delays, he hung up on me.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using it to do our internal payroll (beginning in 2021) and file our payroll taxes (since Greenshades came out with this service). We also sell their products to our Microsoft Dynamics ERP clients.

Likelihood to Recommend

Their employee portal, payroll services and tax filing services are very good and fit in most of our client scenarios. Additionally, they fit when we were looking to take our internal payroll outside the company.

I know Greenshades offered a lot more than what my company used it for but used it for our year-end payroll processes. It made W2's and 1099's easy and quick, and did all the electronic filing.

It made the end of year process easy, but we did have to buy the software [Greenshades] every year. A cloud/web based platform would be easier. We used Microsoft Dynamics.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Greenshades Software is a tool that is being used across the whole organization. It addresses business problems such as managing hours worked, PTO, paystubs, sick time, etc. It allows employees the ability to stay organized and up to date on their work. It also can be used as a valuable resource for supervisors or managers to keep track of the hours that their employees are working.

Pros

  • Requesting Time- Off, which can include PTO and sick time.
  • Managing the hours that you have worked during each pay period.
  • Seeing past pay information.
  • Quick access to W-2.

Cons

  • Better overall website design
  • Easier to edit time slots on timesheet
  • Better notification system for when things need to be approved

Likelihood to Recommend

Greenshades Software is well suited in a business where managers and supervisors may not have the full ability to sit down with each individual employee and manage their hours and time. Greenshades Software provides an easy to use website that is simple and concise. However, there are a few ways that it could be revamped to make it better suited to a larger business.
