Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Google Voice for additional VOIP mobile numbers to avoid purchasing company phones and to avoid employees' giving out personal phone numbers to outside contacts, clients, vendors, etc. Google Voice enables additional communication while being a free service, so long as a person already has a device that Google Voice calls and texts can be routed to.

Google Voice is well suited to provide free phone numbers to working devices, and to provide free calling and texting services. Without a phone, Google Voice will still work on a computer or tablet, but its remote capabilities are much more limited unless a person is walking around checking his/her computer or tablet consistently.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This had for many years served as a line of communication when others failed. It also was a great integration for other Google or Alphabet products in the past, depending on the time you read this review each product has had its own iteration of naming conventions and integrations. This also helped reduce spam and unsolicited calls, as well as allowing us to do better call tracking and measurement than traditional phone or cellular solutions would provide.

There has not been much innovation since the initial release.
It doesn't handle SMS well.
It does not natively integrate with CRM without legacy complication
It is not supported by Google as it once was
Call Recording is non-existent
Call-Tree or Virtual Auto-Attendant needs are not available

Likelihood to Recommend

In the past, I would have happily recommended this for small business use cases. Due to its affordability, versatility, and low barrier to entry as well as its simplicity to use. Google Voice was integrated into the Chrome Browser, it was easily accessed from Gmail, and integrated into Gmail and could even be leveraged in such a way to when phone numbers were clicked on, Google Voice was the tool used. However over the past few years and more, in the past couple of years from 2021 to current, this tool seems to have lost favor with the Alphabet suite of tools. With the lack of integrations, it's becoming less stable, and people are just opting more for Google Meet Voice. The biggest area where this is less appropriate and where opportunity has opened for others is its lack of features, like virtual attendants, call recording, call transcription, SMS, MMS, CRM integration, and other key features even 1 or 2 person business really needs in this day and age.

Google voice or Google voice assistant is mostly use to search in google for the important things for our project work.

By only writing and typing most of the time it did not work.

So voice assistant in the business helps to save a significant amount of time for communication.

That saving time is also use for other productive works.

It is best situated to search anything individually on any topics and the set should be good.

It is less suitable for group of people to attend this as sometimes it do not work properly.

Be the voice assisting sound should be much more polite and a bit slow so that people who are not fluent in English will not understand it properly.

It is helpful to understand in case of google map as a voice assistant guide.

This line is used by my private law practice as the primary office phone. It is listed as my office number because I utilize a virtual office and this permits calls to go directly to my mobile phone instead of a remote receptionist who would take a message or attempt to transfer the call. This allows calls to come directly to me and generally permits a quicker response. It’s convenient for both me and my clients.

Pros

My Google Voice calls come directly to my mobile phone and my computer.
Text messages can be sent to my Google Voice number and are forwarded to me as email messages.
Google Voice allows for direct client contact without a receptionist or assistant taking calls and relating messages.
Voicemail helps make sure I get my client's messages promptly when I’m not available.
Transcripts of voicemail messages are emailed to me allowing me to have a record of the message without keeping all of the recorded voicemail messages.

Cons

Voicemail transcripts are very helpful but the transcription is sometimes not as accurate as I’d like.
Some voicemail messages are unable to be transcribed.
Voicemail transcripts have my first name misspelled. It should be able to take the correct spelling from my account.

Likelihood to Recommend

Google Voice works well as a primary incoming line for a virtual office. It provides flexibility in taking calls from any location on my cell phone or over my laptop. As long as I have cell phone service or WiFi, I can make and receive calls. It’s very convenient when you can’t be tied down to one location but prefer not to give out your cell phone number.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use google voice personally when traveling abroad and have limited service or would not want to use data roaming fees I would route my calls to my Google Voice number. It is not used from an enterprise-level more of a personal choice. I find it very convenient since I am always traveling.

Pros

Easy user interface
Integrated very well across my Google products such as Gmail
Exceptional call forwarding

Cons

I would love to see Google Voice become an independent service provider. It only works well if there is a phone number attached from the major telecom companies. Since it is VOIP it should work with simple internet not reliant on mobile USA carriers.
Google Voice should be able to receive voice calls directly from the app as it once did using Hangouts. Now calls must get forwarded if I am traveling out of the country.

Likelihood to Recommend

I receive a lot of unsolicited calls and Google Voice has great functionality where I can screen who is calling me and decide if I would like to speak to that person. The texting of messages is superb, I like this functionality better than Voice functions. One of the scenarios that are less appropriate is that when a call is coming in and the auto-forward mode is one if I have Google Voice or Gmail open on my computer I can hear both functions ringing, the phone number used to auto-forward and the Google Voice on my browser.

Google Voice is currently being used as a secondary phone system for our organization. It's my belief that for the inevitable outage, it is a good idea to keep a second voice service provider around for us in emergencies. Its use is limited to just a couple of users who needs voice service at all times.

Likelihood to Recommend

Google Voice should be the go-to option for home/personal usage. It's rock solid as a backup phone service or even primary. It does well with voicemail and sms txt'ing. For a business, its capabilities are behind the competition and it does not seem to be a priority for Google.

We use Google Voice to communicate with our clients, keeping both text messages and voice calls in one location. We can also easily pass a number to another agent if someone is out for consistent coverage of requests from our clients. It also easily links up with our CRM/ticketing system for tracking purposes.

We have a call center to recruit participants for research studies. Google Voice not only allowed us to issue new phone numbers to our call staff, but they could use these Google Voice numbers on their own phones without needing to expose their phone number. There are also great voicemail features that will send a transcript of a voicemail to the users email address.

Occasionally it can be difficult to manage two different phone lines on one device, and new users may have difficulty switching between them.

[Google Voice is] great if you have a workforce that needs to make calls for business purposes from their personal mobile device, while keeping their personal phone number private. If you have a large company with its own telecom system, it probably won't be necessary if employees already have their own landlines or separate work phones.

Google Voice is being used by our Sales department for calls all day long. The vice president of our company also uses Voice. It eliminates clients or potential clients from having my real cell phone number, which I like very much.

Pros

The app is amazing.
Texting is also very easy through the app.
It is basically having a second phone number and the voicemail connects to your regular phone number's voicemail.

Cons

I think Google Voice needs to make it easier to purchase international calls.
I think it would be great if the text messages would link to your phone messages. Not just on the app.

I absolutely love the Google Voice app. They have made it so easy to make calls and to receive calls. I also really like that I do not have to give my personal phone number out to all of my clients. One thing I think needs improvement is texting. I wish that it could link to the texts on my actual phone. Other than that, I really enjoy it.
