GoodData Provides Valuable End-User Experience

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use GoodData to provide business intelligence that's embedded within our platform. We use their end-to-end solution to connect our databases with their toool.
GoodData makes our data useful. We can quickly maneuver between the various data points, provide visualizations that summarize the data and extracts to get more granular.

Pros

  • Seamlessly incorporate a wide variety of tools in a way that doesn't clutter user experience
  • Provides tremendous knowledge and support on various use cases
  • Every offering and update is intentional - they're not a software company that makes changes on a whim

Cons

  • The organization of attributes/facts/metrics is lacking
  • Users share saved Insights and the management of those items. Its not intuitive or easy to find Insights unless they were the last ones you worked on
  • When viewing the data model, the interface isn't friendly to research. There should be a better way to view connections without endless scrolling

Likelihood to Recommend

It's very useful for both simple and complicated data models. It supports my day-to-day needs on the larger data model, but I can also quickly connect miscellaneous reports to create visualizations for consistency.

Great BI tool for data sharing and visualizations

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

GoodData is a great BI tool for data visualizations for us. We can centralize and process our business data in GoodData and generate reports and visualizations.
For me, it's a single place where other data users in the company can find what they need on their own, self-service analytics.

Pros

  • data integration
  • KPI tracking
  • self-service data analytics
  • advanced analytics

Cons

  • a bit steep learning curve when advanced customizations are needed
  • dashboard formatting options are limited in some cases

Likelihood to Recommend

GoodData is ideal for teams requiring intuitive data visualization, collaborative insights, and embedded analytics in applications. It may be less suitable for situations demanding quick adoption, given a perceived learning curve, and for users with highly specific and detailed dashboard formatting requirements.

Best suited for Mid to Large size organizations with embedded requirements where custom data can be enabled for the users, and users build and visualize data by brining their own data.

Not a great fit for real-time data analytics.

Review of GoodData.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

GoodData is used to provide analytic dashboards for our clients.
It provides the ability to bring together data from multiple sources and design custom metrics to bring visualization to current scenarios.

Pros

  • Custom metrics.
  • Filtering reports to specific users.
  • Keeping users from editing reports with security.

Cons

  • Custom Metrics.
  • Ability to edit reports.
  • Training

Likelihood to Recommend

GoodData is a proper visualization tool for data. One can build customized reports and metrics and slice data however one sees fit. The security design allows you to use the same report for multiple roles and ensure only the proper users see the proper information. The user interface is not complicated, but not necessarily very intuitive either. It would be nice to have some proper training videos.

GoodData removed a months of work from our IT department

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization is using GoodData to provide business insight into e-commerce performance. We check the dashboards on a daily basis which gives us almost a real-time overview of the revenue, best-selling products, and warehouse status. We connected data directly from the Magento database which allows us to directly analyze all the data without zero code or a need from the IT departments. It helps us to track performance, adjust ad campaigns and monitor our purchase ROAS.
It gives an in-depth analytical view of our raw data directly from the database. Before using GoodData, we had to implement our inhouse analytical solutions which took time and were slow to react to the business needs. With GoodData we are able to deliver fine-grained dashboards in days not months.

Pros

  • Simple way of connecting any database
  • An easy way how to model data
  • An appealing look of the dashboards

Cons

  • I would appreciate a more examples how to build a "standard" dashboards.
  • I would appreciate a more control over the data loading, for example to load some tables based on the queries instead of full loads (similar to the views on a database level)
  • I would appreciate to somehow adjust the data being analyzed with SQL-like queries as in the BigQuery for example.

Likelihood to Recommend

GoodData is solving in a very good way "read-only" or immutable dashboards. If I would need to have more controls e.g a custom filtering on the dashboard sometimes it's really hard to achieve what you need.

GoodData Rocks

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We resell GoodData as the analytics component of our SAAS product. Our product services an industry vertical and as such it needs robust analytics highly specific to the use case to be embedded within it. This analytic capability needs to be highly configurable as well.

Pros

  • Highly visual dashboards
  • Very straightforward for users to comprehend and use
  • Easy to make changes to reports and dashboards

Cons

  • Real time analytics are not yet possible
  • Managing a large number of client projects as an OEM requires some manual work arounds
  • Some admin capabilities such as advanced user data filtering lack UI tools and have to be administered in JSON commands or similar obscure mechanisms

Likelihood to Recommend

GoodData is perfectly suited for embedding in a web app or website, particularly if real time analytics are not needed.

BigData = GoodData

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

GoodData was implemented to house all of our data from the various silos we currently have, identify areas we can improve our data entry, and to assist with developing strategic goals.

Pros

  • Great customer service
  • Very agile framework that allows us to push the boundaries of what we want vs. need
  • Very open to new suggestions from current users

Cons

  • Need to think like a marketer when developing a platform so it's responsive and mobile friendly.
  • It would be nice to have a closer relationship with understanding how all of the updates could impact me. Basically, when a new feature is rolled out, I watch the webinars, however, it's still at such a high level, I'm not sure how the new feature could be used for my circumstances. And since the team knows how the new features work and what my goals are, they have a much stronger understanding of how I could leverage the new features.

Likelihood to Recommend

They move at a very fast pace, and companies new to the world of "BI" will have a more difficult time with adoption, no matter how much they want to use data analytics to improve the company.
