What is Eventbrite?

Eventbrite is a global ticketing and event technology platform that provides creators of events with tools and resources to plan, promote, and produce live experiences.

The vendor says event organizers can benefit from Eventbrite’s self-service event planning tools including email invitation creation, RSVP tracking, and ticket selling. Ticket sales can be managed online via the ticketing website or through integration with social media sites including Facebook, and real-time sales data aims to help event planners assess attendance and profit.

The platform includes powerful discovery channels and robust marketing tools, which, according to the vendor, facilitate high conversion rates. Eventbrite's goal is to help users zero in on the most interested event-goers and sell more tickets to their events.

Great for internal and external event clear ease of use

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Eventbrite for both internal and external RSVP for key trainings. We like that we can keep some events private for internal purposes, but also advertise public events to the wider community. It is nice that you can collect payments, but we normally just offer free events through Eventbrite.

Pros

  • Event RSVP
  • Event Advertising/Marketing
  • Singular place for all event registrations
  • Event reminders for guests

Cons

  • Duplicating events with ease
  • Local advertising
  • Display layout for primary event image

Return on Investment

  • Agent Retention by hosting high value events
  • Positive staff outlook, ease of RSVP collection
  • Positive staff outlook, ease of RSVP reminders

Usability

Highly Inaccurate counts for our event

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I organize events for various organizations.we organized a fund raising diner for our group and it was a donation based event with limited seating so the price of the event was free. Eventbrite loaded us up with false information making the event look full, this caused the event to be a failure. I will never use them again.

Pros

  • Ease of use

Cons

  • Accurate statistics
  • Proper email notification of purchases

Most Important Features

  • Accurate counts
  • Accurate list of attendees
  • Information I can rely on.

Return on Investment

  • Our expenses were higher than needed due to inaccurate reporting
  • Only the final report, that came after the day of the event was accurate
  • Eventbrite loaded the list with false emails making the event look full

Great platform

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use EventBrite for selling our ticketed events. The platform is really useful as we have large events that require multiple ticket options and this platform enables us to do that successfully and also enables our customer base to have a single destination to make multiple purchases to the event.

Pros

  • multiple listing options
  • ease of use
  • looks great to our customers

Cons

  • I have had really good interactions with the website
  • I personally haven't found any issues with my individual use so far

Return on Investment

  • we found that this gave us valuable data for our event and also how we plan future events
  • we could you also the data and analytics to get better insight
  • we saw an increase in multiple sales with how the platform allowed customers to interact

Great for free events, but they hold funds for paid tickets

Pros

  • Creating landing pages that stand out and are trusted.
  • Communicating with attendees pre and post event.
  • The integration with Zoom is good, though there were some recent changes that have confused our attendees on our weekly virtual show.

Cons

  • Offering other options for merchant processing--Stripe, PayPal, Square, etc.
  • Hard to repurpose the weekly events for replay viewing. Have to copy the event and replace the online link with the video link to Youtube.

Most Important Features

  • Represents our brand well. Like that there is an organizer profile.
  • Easy to use. Interface is very intuitive.
  • I like how it renders the images when shared on social.

Return on Investment

  • Eventbrite is still holding our funds from 2019 for an event that was postponed.
  • My money is not working for me when it is sitting with Eventbrite. They only pay out a few weeks after an event. If you are producing an event where you have upfront costs, you have to pay all of those costs using funds other than ticket sales. Eventbrite does not offer any interest on the money they are holding, which in my case is a six-month lead time from start of ticket sales to end of event.
