Dropbox serves as a primary solution for secure file storage and backup, with organizations widely using it to house diverse digital assets and ensure centralized access. In TrustRadius reviews, it is frequently highlighted for its ability to streamline file sharing and collaboration, enabling efficient sharing of large files and facilitating co-editing among teams. Reviewers also value its robust support for remote access, allowing users to retrieve files from any device, anywhere, which underpins flexible work environments.

The platform contributes to significant operational efficiencies and cost savings by reducing reliance on physical storage and enhancing remote work capabilities. However, some reviewers identify challenges with file organization and management, noting that the folder system can be confusing. Search functionality, particularly on the web, and aspects of the user interface, like selective sync, are also cited as areas needing improvement. Overall, reviewers report a positive return on investment, despite occasional technical issues and concerns about pricing.

Great way to save your works' info.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dropbox to save almost everything, from documents to pictures and other files. This allows a few of the company's employees to access their work and important information from wherever they are, especially when traveling. One "problem" is that the search bar throws a lot of results based on the keywords and makes it harder to find the right document.

Pros

  • Storing information safely.
  • Fast uploads.
  • Unlimited organization within Drobox.

Cons

  • Search bar/results.
  • ID tags for better management.
  • More personalization.

Likelihood to Recommend

It suits most applications; it will change based on their software. For example, using Google, Google Drive is more accessible and navigated. I think Dropbox can have more software integrations with third-party platforms that will facilitate and improve its use. It also feels like going back in time.

Simple & elegant SME server

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dropbox as our entire server for multiple businesses within our organisation. With work from home, remote and travelling workforce plus external consultants - access to current information and files is critical. Access must be simple and streamlined across multiple platforms - web, app, android & apple plus offline activity is required for remote locations. Dropbox does this with ease.

Pros

  • Access via multiple platforms
  • Integrations with Apple for simple uploading & access
  • Offline activity with immediate uploading when in wifi
  • File access tracking

Cons

  • Sharing folders outside of organisation (such as contractors/consultants) can sometimes be clunky & want to add them to my organisation for a fee.
  • Took a while to learn how to give different users access to different folders. Still struggling to make this a simple action to be honest!
  • Retrospective activity reports of file/folder activity is difficult to navigate and I actually haven't worked out how to do it

Likelihood to Recommend

Ease of access, superior integration into multiple platforms (apple/windows/android), offline activity and seamless upload/download makes Dropbox an excellent choice for our business that has remote & travelling workers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our business requires frequent sharing of large documents that may be too large to send by other means. A dropbox not only organizes our business but allows the seamless of sharing of the large files. Every member of our business has access to our company drop box and each have their own section in dropbox

Pros

  • Organization
  • Collaboration
  • Sharing

Cons

  • Make the UI more user friendly
  • Better help section
  • More customizability

Likelihood to Recommend

Dropbox is well-suited for securely sharing and collaborating on important documents, such as procurement contracts and shipping schedules. It facilitates real-time updates and ensures easy access across distributed teams. However, for large-scale data analytics or complex inventory management, more specialized platforms might be more appropriate.Dropbox excels in enhancing document collaboration and communication but may be less suitable for intricate supply chain optimization tasks requiring specialized software.

I love how it allow me to share and communicate with co-workers. The design is simple and easy to use but also also has some advanced features to help shape the individual experience. It's easy to also share documents with people out side of the organization. This facilitates a clean flow of communication.

Pros

  • allows coworkers to instantly see my work

Cons

  • I don't have any suggestions for improvement
  • I don't have any suggestions for improvement
  • I don't have any suggestions for improvement

Likelihood to Recommend

Dropbox is best suited for times when you have to work in a group setting with one main document. Allowing multiple team members to go in to a document and make updates is a must. Dropbox is less appropriate when working on personal matters outside of work. It's intended use is pretty obvious.
