Avoid Definitive Healthcare

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We licensed Definitive Healthcare's data to use for prospecting in healthcare. We found it clumsy and non-intuitive, but by far, the biggest issue was the error rates - we experienced errors as high as 30% on some lists.

Pros

  • Sales person was very persuasive.
  • I feel customer success was nice but not helpful.
  • In my opinion, they do a good job of locking licensees into contracts where they have all the leverage.

Cons

  • In my experience, the data is shot full of errors. We couldn't use it
  • Definitive Healthcare needs better data
  • I know a contact who moved employers 6 mos ago - his data in Definitive Healthcare is STILL INCORRECT

Likelihood to Recommend

I think the best scenario for using Definitive Healthcare is if accuracy isn't very important. If you just want to spam a lot of people and you don't really care where the contacts land, they're your vendor.

If, on the other hand, you like accuracy and are hoping the commercial list vendor supplies data that will help your business grow, I feel they are less well suited to those use cases.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Definitive Healthcare to find practices, medical groups, and health systems in our respective territories. We also used it to find appropriate contacts such as head physician, owner, and practice administrator. This helps us ensure that we are reaching out to the correct prospect in the correct location and within the correct specialty. Definitive [Healthcare] also helps show what health systems or medical groups own specific practices, hospitals, and medical centers.

Pros

  • Provides a list of hospitals, health systems, medical groups, and practices
  • Helps show what locations are under certain systems or groups
  • Gives insight into specialties and employee counts

Cons

  • Sometimes the contact information is incorrect
  • There are times when the listed provider or contact is no longer working there
  • It could integrate with Salesforce

Likelihood to Recommend

Definitive Healthcare is well suited for getting a better understanding of your [...] healthcare ecosystem. It is good for finding practices or medical groups related to a specific specialty or in a specific location. It helps with prospecting because you can see the size of the location, who it is connected to, where it is located, the [number] of employees, and the appropriate contacts.

Poor Customer Service and Response Time and Uncreative Solution and Software

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We implemented Definitive [Healthcare] for our Sales Team in order to reach C-level and Director level contacts at hospitals and health systems.

Pros

  • Good data and information about health and hospital systems such as size, revenue, software.
  • Healthcare specific. There's no other noise.

Cons

  • Outdated UI and lacks integration with popular software
  • Account Management team is unempowered to solve problems or come up with creative solutions.
  • Slow response time. I waited 3 weeks for a response from their team on a question.
  • Database lack key contacts especially Director level and above. Poor tool for sales team.
  • Poor customer service. I constantly felt like I was chasing them for a meeting or on questions.

Likelihood to Recommend

Trial [Definitive Healthcare] and make sure you test all scenarios. Once they lock you into a contract, they're not letting you out of it, even if you prove that their database lacks key information that you were looking for. You'll be running around and chasing them for months and still get no resolution.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Definitive Healthcare is being used across the organization. We use it to keep count of information within healthcare systems. It helps us define whether someone is within our ideal customer profile by defining the size and number of staff within an organization.

Pros

  • We can link information directly to Salesforce pages. Automatically updates on pages.
  • Gives specifics about organizations such as executives, size, revenue, etc.

Cons

  • I have noticed they do not update C suite members often, so when trying to reach out to prospects, the information can be outdated.

Likelihood to Recommend

Definitive is very well suited when you need overall knowledge of an organization. I would not recommend using this specifically to enrich the database with contact records.
