Dataloader.io has helped our organization to securely import and export data for all your enterprise-level users. it has made the entire process more seamless and productive to work with for the organization. It also helps us to have single secure login access without having to download multiple apps within the company.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dataloader.io is used currently in our organization to perform several bulk operations on data like insert/update/upsert, etc. Whenever we have files like .csv for data of any object which is having data records of more than 2000, we are using this website to connect to our org and load the data into the object for us.

Cons

Dataloader.io doesn't works properly on certain OOB objects of Salesforce.
Look and feel is not user friendly.
CSV file is required for import.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have an operation in your organization to perform several bulk operations on data like insert/update/upsert, etc., one should use dataloader.io instead of other tools. It imports the data through files like .csv for data of any object which is having data records of more than 2000, but if you less number of records one should prefer other ways.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a Salesforce Admin, I use it pretty regularly. I have an assistant who I am teaching to use it as well. We have a massive database with millions of records so we have to pretty frequently do updates on lots of records at the same time. It helps us save an insane amount of time. I also use it to export data out of and then upload the data back into Salesforce.

Pros

Mass manipulate data into Salesforce
mass export data out of Salesforce
Save so much time for us and is extremely accurate.

Cons

It looks a little outdated- could use a refresher
It's particularly expensive-hard to convince admins to pay for the better versions
I work for two orgs and sometimes it can be difficult to switch back and forth between the dataloaders.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it's extremely useful any time you have to change records with the same data. Very useful when you also need to upload data into Salesforce. Also, very useful when you need to do the combination. The only issue that you can run into, and it's no fault of Dataloader.io's, is when you have to manipulate a bunch of records, sometimes the record id's can get a little mixed up and you can accidentally update the wrong records. You have to be careful not to do that and identify the duplicates before hand. I think it's always appropriate and will use it for records of more than 20 honestly.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dataloader.io is used by a handful of Salesforce admins in our company. It's not mandatory; more of a personal preference. I switch back and forth between that and the Data Loader application. It doesn't necessarily address any "problems," rather it makes us more productive in our day to day. Instead of manually inserting, updating, or deleting data, we turn to Dataloader.io to automate it.

Better/more intelligent field mapping

Cons

Offer more scheduled runs with free version
Increase number of records with free version
Free version gets the job done, but the next tier is rather expensive

Likelihood to Recommend

Dataloader.io and the Data Loader application are virtually the same thing, so it boils down to a personal preference. I started my Salesforce career using the application, so I didn't use Dataloader.io very much until recently. Dataloader.io is nice to use if you'd like an updated user interface and experience, as well as schedulable runs. Unless you want to pay for more functionality, I would suggest sticking with the Data Loader app for massive amounts of data.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dataloader.io as a data import wizard in Salesforce. It's better than the standard data import wizard & dataloader supplied by Salesforce because you can auto-map some fields and save a lot of time. It's also possible to plan some batches. I spend less time on Excel and that's really impacting my job. The main use of this software is to import accounts & contacts on Salesforce. But you can also export your data and clean it via this software.

Cons

Professional version is really expensive.
Lack of features.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a simple Salesforce organization with fewer import needs, this is not useful at all. Also, if you have a strong Data Team, you don't have to buy Dataloader.io. On my side, I really prefer the real Dataloader given by Salesforce. It takes a little longer to set up but is really more simple, efficient, and reliable, without lags.

We use this utility with some clients to aid in data loads, exports, and updates. This is used by various staff as a utility in the place of Salesforce Dataloader. This application is very intuitive and aids with data mapping as well as a historical view of work completed in the Salesforce org for exports, inserts, updates.

Links to download exports including successful or failed imports/updates.
Rerunning previous jobs
Tracking history of tasks completed in the Salesforce org.

Cons

Progress bar indicator would be helpful.
Options for quickly switching between salesforce orgs.
Increase monthly limits for free edition.

Likelihood to Recommend

This product is excellent for quickly logging into a Salesforce Production or Sandbox Org, and being able to navigate objects to collect the information you are looking for. The user interface is very easy to understand and with minimal work you are able to write queries and export information you are looking for. Once the exports are completed, use your preferred Excel/Google Sheet viewer to make modifications and you can quickly update/insert new records back through the same utility.

Dataloader is used by our Sales Operations team to update sales records in bulk. This has allowed us to:

Maintain data integrity easily and efficiently
Add new information into our SalesForce environment easily and efficiently
Update our accounts, account owners, contacts, and contact information easily and efficiently
Maintain opportunity progression over a large number of accounts
Close opportunities in bulk to alleviate the manual entry from salespeople and enable them to sell more products!

Pros

Easily update a wide swath of data.
Significantly reduce manual manipulation of data.
Built in efficiencies to templatize recurrent data loads.

Cons

User downloads is a bit cumbersome.
Easier method to sign back in.
More robust training material.

Dataloader is an incredible asset for a large organization or an organization that has a robust Salesforce environment. Specifically, Dataloader has allowed our sales team to focus on driving sales while our operations team can load the data they need in a manner that allows for robust reporting and tracking on our sales process. Organizations with less robust Salesforce environments or Salesforce environments in which many people are expected to maintain their own information likely do not need Dataloader.

Pros

Updating existing records.
Inserting new records.
Upserting into current records.
Data mapping.

Cons

The UI is a little dated.
The mapping function could be more intuitive.
The time it takes to update on large uploads could be improved.

Likelihood to Recommend

Any projects where data is in a particular field that is being deprecated and you need to transfer that data to a new field to keep the historical record is a good use case for Dataloader.io.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

When we need to extract mass data to scrub for errors/gaps, acquire customer lists/company data we need to import into Salesforce, dataloader.io is the tool we rely on to complete these, sometimes very large, extractions or imports. Its pretty well a seamless integration and solid platform to use to parse through volumes of information within your SF CRM.

Pros

Splitting data between object sets
Mass upload/Insert ability makes changing multiple data sets on multiple fields very simple
Ease of use. One of the few instances Salesforce data correlation is very black and white.

Cons

The lag time doing large data sets can be tricky. Especially if you have errors.
It sometimes does not feel very stable; can error out multiple times for no real reason
Custom integration support needed

Likelihood to Recommend

It is a great tool for parsing data. Nothing terribly diffiuclt about its function other than the basic knowledge of field nomenclature within SF and its related objects. If you have a basic Admin understanding of how SF operates, the dataloader tool will be pretty simple to use, understand and teach.
