Copper - A Powerful Yet Easy to Use CRM

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Copper to keep all of my customer interactions visible and in one place. This product integrates directly with Gmail eliminating me from manually associating any email interactions with a customer. Before I used Copper I tracked my sales activity in spreadsheets and calendars. Using Copper has reduced the time I previously spent manually managing these interactions by 95%.

Pros

  • Integrates with Gmail
  • Integrates with Linkedin
  • Provides an easy configurable Interface for contact categories.
  • Provides many of the same functions as very expensive CRM's but easy to use and set up.

Cons

  • Better tracking of opened emails. If I send an email to multiple contacts, Copper reports the email was opened by a user but not who opened it.
  • Integrate contact syncing across platforms. I use a 3rd party app to sync all of contacts across multiple Gmail accounts, outlook, and Copper. (Sync Penguin)

Return on Investment

  • Cooper enables me to work more efficiently, thus make more sales.

MWG COPPER

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Copper as our central CRM to streamline our entire sales process and client management. It helps our team stay focused and aligned by organizing multiple pipelines, managing client relationships, and tracking project progress — all in one platform.

Even as a hyper-local company with a small team (6–8 members), Copper plays a critical role in keeping departments connected and workflows efficient. It solves the challenge of disjointed communication and scattered data, enabling us to deliver a consistent and organized experience for our clients and internal team.

Pros

  • Helps sales visually see all moving leads/prospects
  • Allows for easy access on both desktop/mobile
  • User interface is fairly straightforward

Cons

  • Window change: for mobile - when you tap on a card from a pipeline it takes you to the lead’s basic info. I wish it would immediately just open all activities so I can quick see notes
  • I usually use Copper on the go. When you open the Copper app, it immediately opens a collab window. I wish it had some sort of easy dashboard….plus a notes area. I open Copper on mobile to quickly search for someone’s name or to take quick notes from a sales meeting

Return on Investment

  • I’ve used several CRM’s and Copper allowed me to come, manage clients and quickly scale our business.

  • Setting up of automation of tasks

Cons

  • Ability to move customers back to leads in contact lists

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Copper to organize all of my past clients, current clients, leads, networking and referral partners. I use it to track all opportunities - that's one of primary reasons I signed up. I felt that putting a laser focus on my pipeline would help me keep my eye on the prize, and it's worked. I've set up some automations to help me save time - such as an integration with Calendly where a new contact record is created each time someone books a networking or discovery call with me.

Pros

  • Easily recording and tracking opportunities
  • Little to no learning curve with an intuitive interface
  • Easy to customize

Cons

  • My number one request is making the task scheduling increments in the desktop version in 15 minute increments instead of 30.

Return on Investment

  • When I needed to launch my new freebie and email marketing, Copper was where I organized all my outreach to warm contacts, resulting in a mailing list of 50 people within a couple of weeks.
  • None of my opportunities are slipping through the cracks, those that are on hold are still on my radar so I can pitch my new service.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

When your team is more focused on getting work done than obsessing over “the funnel,” this is a solid CRM. Copper is especially strong if your team lives in Google Workspace and your business development process doesn’t hinge on long, complex customer journeys. It’s lean and practical, but you won’t find all the bells and whistles that come with HubSpot—or the deep support and enterprise-grade experience you’d get with Salesforce. We’ve been on Copper for three years and have renewed, which says a lot. That said, the ugly user interface and terrible Mailchimp integration are still major drawbacks.

Pros

  • G-Suite Connectivity
  • Set it and forget it data capture
  • Automated Email Templates

Cons

  • Ugly interface
  • Poor Mailchimp Integration
  • Integrated data enrichment tools

Return on Investment

  • Our organization has built a much larger database
  • We are able to communicate more frequently with prospects
  • We can track previous prospects, search and sort
