What is Conceptboard?

Conceptboard is a collaboration software built for teams of any size. Its primary features are project management, team whiteboards, integration into business workflows, and real-time collaboration.

Categories & Use Cases

Too slow

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am an online math tutor. All I need from the whiteboard is the ability to share PDF documents with math problems and the student's ability to work with me, i.e., write/draw some simple shapes and numbers. Pretty simple, right?

We both have to wait 3-5 minutes before the board loading. And yes, I do use paid option. Next, it constantly freezes when I try to delete some documents. Usually, it is a 20-30 pages PDF file with some additional pictures. Sometimes it takes me up to 20 minutes to select and delete some pages. And there is no button to clean the board completely. So I either have to choose each page separately and delete it, or try to do it in a bunch and wait for who knows how long.

I registered on this site and wrote this review and the board is still frozen

Pros

  • free unlimited trial
  • simple interface

Cons

  • Increase the responding speed
  • Make a button for "clear the board"

Conceptboard - A great concept but lacks a punch

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Business problems that Conceptboard addresses -

1. Virtual whiteboarding and collaboration for onsite & offsite teams. Really does a great job in this particular use case

2. Project management - especially product management in an agile setup.

3. Brainstorming, and design collaboration including an all-hands approach to it

Scope of our use -

1. Virtual and online brainstorming for new projects, product ideas, backlog refinement, etc.

2. Really helpful in agile setup - Daily backlogs, retrospectives, etc.

3. Integrations with existing collaboration software

Pros

  • Whiteboarding - Helps teams to just use the tool as a whiteboard to help brainstorming
  • Templates - Pretty good templates to just drag and drop and use in a project. Helps with quick turnovers
  • Designing - Helps UI/UX , design teams a lot with user mapping, workflows, etc.

Cons

  • Integration - Could really improve the integrations with existing software, especially Jira which developers majorly use
  • Mobile apps - At least while we were using Conceptboard, they did not have mobile apps which made it a little challenging to use on the go.
  • Loading - If you switch b.w browser windows, it loads and this takes some time every time. Not ideal and should not happen

Return on Investment

  • Positive - During peak COVID season, Conceptboard really helped in having whiteboard sessions with folks all over the world. Positive ROI in the beginning
  • Negative - Due to the lack of integrations & embed options, it eventually was not a smooth option anymore.
  • Negative - Lack of mobile apps was one of the major business objectives here as this is required on-the-go.

Good Intro Whiteboarding for Beginner Users

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We typically use Conceptboard as an alternative to Miro for whiteboarding, brainstorming, and outlining concepts / strategy in virtual settings. The problems we address are coordinating in virtual settings, quickly documenting ideas, presenting more developed concepts to large groups, and collaborating in breakout rooms. We typically use Conceptboard in groups of 5 - 25.

Pros

  • Templating
  • Whiteboarding
  • Multiple Users

Cons

  • Integrations
  • Importing / Exporting to other applications
  • Data Visualization

Return on Investment

  • Positive: Quickly brainstorming ideas outside of powerpoint and allowing multiple users to collaborate
  • Positive: quickly building on ideas from a previous meeting
  • Negative: getting utilized as a long-term tool for a long project that didn't have the capabilities needed

A successful tool for small and changing groups

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a small workshop collective working within the university. We provide professional workshop training to architecture students. We have been working with the Miro application for a long time and now we are looking for an alternative solution. Our goal is to ensure rapid cooperation and interaction, and to provide an environment where our students can interact comfortably without getting bored.

Pros

  • Pretty simple interface
  • A simple and successful video tutorial
  • Successful navigation features
  • A non-stop free hand drawing tool

Cons

  • The sticky note tool glitches and behaves as if it were moving on a grid.
  • PDF upload tool does not work fast. Maybe a PDF merge algorithm could be added.
  • The selection area is not visible when dragging the eraser tool.

Return on Investment

  • Loss of time on large files
  • A pleasant adaptation process
  • The possibility of effective collaboration

a great tool for collaboration for work teams

Pros

  • direct and fast service support
  • Easy compatibility with many other external companies
  • I can easily prepare a presentation and work on questions together between the information.

Cons

  • The client interface is less flashy and could use some updating.

Return on Investment

  • I can say that this tool is unique since its impact on our work team has been one of the best we have ever had since it allows us to exchange ideas in one place through boards, which is more fun with the video call function
