Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Cloud Email Security is used in the organization to conduct proof of concept with customers as we are Cisco partners. Some problems that may occur are that the parts with which you want to integrate the solution are not well configured since on the part of email security you have no problem.

Pros

Advanced malware protection.
Integration with Office365.

Cons

The graphical interface.
Support to deploy.

Likelihood to Recommend

The most appropriate scenarios to implement email security is in companies that want to protect the use of electronic mail since it is one of the security breaches that are currently used to perform any type of attack.

Very effective integration with Office 365 and it is highly recommended to add the functionality of advanced malware protection.

At ARM marketing solutions, we have a very diverse workforce employed across different geographic locations and still rely heavily on email for interactions with our clients and customers. After experiencing a significant data breach, our CIO decided to overhaul our IT security infrastructure. We implemented Cisco Cloud Email Security as our first choice solution for securing Email servers. This tool is implemented across the entire company.

Pros

Cisco Email Security addresses all the major forms of data attacks like phishing, ransomware and malware propagation.
Its content encryption capabilities safeguard against any data loss potential through outgoing emails.

Cons

On certain client machines, we found that the software prevented the opening of innocuous email attachments flagging them as potentially harmful.
Emails with large attachment sizes can sometimes slow down the email loading process.

We have been using this software at our company for approximately two years now. We have had excellent results from it thus far. This tool is very robust and provides a layered approach towards email security. We have it installed for our employees mobile devices as well.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using the Cisco E-mail Security Appliance as our main E-mail gateway towards the internet.

It filters incoming and outgoing mail for over 500 domains and thousands of users.

Pros

Best in class spam filtering using Talos Intelligence.
Highly customisable with multiple layers and filters to customise your E-mail flow.
Reliable and able to keep up with high volumes of mail and spam.

Cons

Initial configuration takes time to perform as it is a very powerful solution.
Limited context sensitive help.

Likelihood to Recommend

Will work for both on-prem as hosted exchange services. Scales very well from 100 users to thousands of users.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

CES is used across our entire network. It addresses the problems of spam and potentially malicious emails. It also gives us the ability to monitor our incoming and outgoing traffic at a granular level.

Pros

Incoming mail policies and content filtering are easy to implement.
Security aspects of the service are great at filtering out unwanted traffic: anti-spam, anti-virus (Sophos and Mcafee), Cisco AMP, outbreak filters, reputation filtering, etc.).
Email tracking through the SMA is a breeze, so if you have specific users that are having problems in the receipt of emails, research into the problem is quick and easy.
The reporting is detailed for operations and security functions.

Cons

Outlook integration in terms of a plug-in would be great. Currently, users can't add something to a blacklist or whitelist directly from Outlook.
Management of the platform is done from two portals the ESA and SMA. It would be nice to have it all in one management portal.
A quick start management guide would be nice. The manual is over 1,000 pages, so there is definitely a lot of functionality in this service.

Likelihood to Recommend

We have over 70 locations across the US, some of which change due to the nature of our business, so having Cisco Cloud Email Security provides scalability with relative ease when a new site comes up. An on-prem solution would be much harder to manage.
