Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Chrome Remote Desktop frequently to access my work computers and work from home during weekends or after hours. The main convenience is its ease of use to log in to access the computers, and also prevents me from having to commute to my place of work in order to conduct work. Furthermore, it is a great free product!

Pros

  • Easy to connect with work computers from home - No lag.
  • It is a free product and there is no charge compared to other platforms.
  • I use Google Chrome and many other Google products like Gmail, so it fits in well as another useful tool to use.

Cons

  • Truly no issues at all that I can think of - It is a great product!

Return on Investment

  • Saved many hours of unnecessary community to my business - 60 to 120 hours a year.
  • Given a lot of flexibility to remote access work computers from home or when away on holiday.
  • Saved time at work the next day by preparing work the previous night by using this product to access work computers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Chrome Remote Desktop to access systems on my work machine when I am away from the office. There will be times when I need to retrieve information when I am office site. So I will log in via Chrome Remote Desktop. Also use it to remote into a window machine from my Macintosh computer.

Pros

  • Access files on a network that I might not be physically connected to.
  • Help someone remotely gain access to my machine.
  • Access my companies sever.

Cons

  • I would like a two factor authentication for using Chrome Remote Desktop.

  • The Application being free. Allows for saving money in our organization.

It's easy to use for free in a pinch. Google Chrome Remote Desktop is another tool to use to remote into users pcs.

Pros

  • Connects users without issue
  • Not that hard to use
  • No latency issues

Cons

  • Resolution issues will prevent you from seeing important options
  • An easier way for the user to connect for support
  • Would prefer a desktop install

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use it daily to access remote desktops of various systems that I need to get access to. Anything from regular desktop workstation use, to accessing remote systems that are responsible for media presentations and video editing.

Pros

  • No need to configure ports / firewalls. Simple to setup and install.
  • Doesn't require any advance graphic cards for remote access.
  • Lightweight with hardly any system impact.

Cons

  • More fluid video rendering. Does a good job, but could use a more consistent framerate at times.
  • A way to easier switch between multiple monitors.
  • Adding an ability to zoom for multi-monitor display. Sometimes on a single screen it can get difficult to read if trying to view them all.

Return on Investment

  • Cost is free and that is always a huge plus.
  • Since I don't have to configure any firewalls or open any ports, it makes installing very simple and easy to deploy.
  • Being able to remote access my machine from my phone in a pinch is a great plus. If I need a quick a simple task, I can just take out my phone and grab it on the go.
