What is Brightpod?

Brightpod is a cloud-based project, task and content management software built with marketing & creative teams in mind. Brightpod helps bring visibility to all the work across teams. With Brightpod, teams can create workflows, delegate tasks, setup their editorial calendar, and manage digital content strategies in the cloud. A few practical uses include i) collaboration on an upcoming social media campaign, ii) keeping a working editorial calendar, iii) creating workflows to help similar projects run smoothly, iv) getting an idea of what colleagues are working on each day.

BrightPod: A Handy Task Management Application

Pros

  • Ability to easily review the resolution path when multiple participants contribute to a solution.
  • Good search functionality to find tasks based on keywords.
  • Good archival access for closed tasks and pods.

Cons

  • Cannot open files right from Brightpod, have to download first. Would be great to at least be able to preview/view in advance.
  • File organization within a pod seems clunky, so it is difficult to organize and classify, as well as to find/access previously uploaded files.

Return on Investment

  • We don't measure the ROI of this product.
  • Previously, we used Box and Basecamp and we find this product superior for our needs.
  • We think the simplicity of the product increases usage.

Pros

  • A very visually pleasing layout of projects in a Kanban style view.
  • Keeps all communication on a task or project in one place, so that everyone is on the same page.
  • Great template system for recurring projects like onboarding or deploying a specific service that has a defined timeline.
  • Flexile recurring tasks.

Cons

  • They really need a chat or instant messenger feature.
  • iOS app would be nice.
  • The option to remove the delay for sending messages on a task.

Return on Investment

  • This increased our efficiency by probably 2x because there was little need to discuss well defined and assigned projects.
  • There was less stress about what was a priority and what could wait.
