You can’t add events to the leave calendar or mark periods of restricted leave which means line managers have to check a separate calendar before approving leave.
Any admins receive all holiday requests which clogs up their inboxes. Need more flexible role types so you can select who receives notifications.
System doesn’t stop employees requesting holiday when they have used up their allowance.
E-learning doesn’t record if an employee completes training assigned to them. The training certificate has to be manually uploaded and the line manager has to remove the training assignment so the employee stops receiving reminders.

BrightHR has made it so much easier for us to manage our HR function and we like the simplicity of the interface. There are a few frustrating issues (see cons), but these could easily be corrected in future releases which would make the system even better.

BrightHR is the system we use to record employee data. It keeps data for all staff in one central place and allows calendar sync to view staff absences. It acts as a functional way to store employee documents and personal employee information. The addition of e-learning is also a beneficial resource.

People Overview on home page shows a snapshot of the day's activities. Great for seeing who is on leave at a glance.

Highlight the fact once you make a contract change, the ability to change leave entitlement from days to hours disappears. A pop-up message to state this would be helpful. I recently had a very helpful call with Farshad who helped me understand this limitation and how I could navigate the process to make the changes I was looking to implement.
Offer the option to change leave entitlement from hours to days which I believe is not currently possible

I use BrightHR to ensure our compliance with Health & Safety, utilising both the BrightSafe and BrightHR modules, making sure our employees are up to date with their H&S and HR knowledge. With our staff working in many different locations, the ability to have them complete this training without having to coral them to the office, is very beneficial.

When logging in to Bright Safe or HR modules, it would be beneficial if the individuals assigned modules were presented immediately on that first page, without the need to go looking for them.

BrightHR is an excellent support mechanism for our organisation, from on-boarding new employees to the day to day management of Health & Safety.
We joined BrightHR initially to help automate the process of calculating annual leave for our team. Having a platform to go that is modern and sleek has been helpful for storing team members details etc. I think for an organisation where each employee works the same hours any given day, Bright HR works great. With our industry, that changes so it can still be a bit of a manual input.

I am told by team members the mobile view of annual leave is confusing.
Perhaps an option to add years of service annual leave days so that each year, if someone reaches a milestone Bright HR adds this in.
E learning courses acknowledging that someone has completed a course without them having to download a certificate or click a button to complete.

Lots of employees so having one platform to handle all types of leave is great. To be able to have weekends removed from our calendars would be helpful as we only operate Monday to Friday but was told we can't do this because our contracts are variable. It means that our team members request 2 weeks holiday and the weekend is also deducted. This means I have to go manually and edit - just more time consuming.

It is less suited when staff complete their trainings and we then have to manually download all their certificate and put in the folders we have created rather than it automatically going into their profiles. It just makes things longer to do
