Automox is primarily utilized by organizations for comprehensive patch management, ensuring up-to-date software and operating systems to reduce vulnerability exposure and streamline IT operations. In TrustRadius reviews, it is also valued for vulnerability remediation and as an endpoint management solution, simplifying device oversight. A majority of reviewers report significant time savings for IT staff, allowing reallocation of resources from patching and administration tasks. The platform's automation and scripting capabilities, particularly through 'worklets,' are central to this efficiency, enabling uninterrupted employee work during maintenance.
Reviewers often commend the intuitive user interface and clear dashboard, contributing to ease of use. However, common feedback highlights limitations in dashboard and reporting customization, with some desiring more tailored widgets and automated email reports. There is also a request for a broader catalog of pre-built worklets and more detailed error reporting. Overall, the sentiment indicates Automox effectively boosts operational efficiency and improves security posture through automated patching and increased visibility.

We use Automox to stay on top of patching for Windows Update and the various applications that are used in our business. This helps address the critical issue of out-of-date software causing cyber security vulnerabilities on our network. It is easy enough to use and understand for staff without a lot of technical knowledge, but has a depth that can be exploited by IT staff with more know how.

Some of our employees are working from home at different locations. So we can use Automox to patch and secure devices without requiring a VPN or on-prem server. We have only limited IT staff in our organization. Automox can handle OS and software updates without manually checking every endpoint. It helps us to manage our IT staff workload.
We use Automox to reduce the effort of patching vulnerabilities manually and making our work efficient. Automox Can automatically patch known vulnerabilities of operating systems and third party applications. Also Automox supports All the OSs such as Windows , Linux and Macos. Automox is well suited for an organization where there are less experienced and limited staff in the IT section where regular patching is needed at least once a week. This product is more suited for SMB environments who prefer cloud solutions with easy functionality and managment. For more security critical organizations who do not want to allow access to a outside URL from there organization should double check the benefits of moving for a cloud solution since Automox is a well secured platform with many capabilities.

Automox work's well as patch managment tool that standadises our fleet patching (Windows & MacOS) we have the same policies and deployment method to both operating system enviroments and the same set of policies within Automox.
We use Automox to auto-deploy patching updates to our end devices, Mac, Windows, and Linux-based systems. We group devices based on their use case, i.e., Employee, Production, Server, etc. We can then manage urgency and granular updates as they relate to the individual business case. The autonomy of updates allows our system engineers to focus on creating new solutions and solving ongoing issues.

Since we started using this product, patching our RHEL servers has become easy for multiple reasons. It has also helped us configure policies and run them easily across our Linux environment. Collecting stats or details from the environment and generating a report has also become easy.
Pros
Update or patch our RHEL env.
Run policies with custom scripts.
Configure accessible reports from the custom scripts.
Cons
Bit of customization in the dashboard.
Some level of bash script checks in the policy.
Test run for bash scripts without actually executing.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for Linux patching or upgrades and also for setting up custom scripts for execution across the whole environment or a specific group of servers. Then, collect the output from this execution and make a report. A single dashboard makes all of this easy and reduces our time.
We use Automox for Windows and third party patch management as well as automation of some Windows support tasks. Automox has allowed us to configure the critical updates to install right away but also allowed us to schedule non-critical patches to install after a 14 day waiting period to make sure they didnt cause any issues for the early adopter of those patches.
Pros
Windows patch management
Third Party patch management
Automation - remote exe3cution
Hardware inventory
Software Inventory
Cons
Some remote exection scripts fails, and the logging detail could be iomproved
Worklet support is limited
Likelihood to Recommend
Automox is well suited for organizations that need the ability to manage what patches are installed, and when they are installed. It is also good for organizations that want a tools that allows them to easily run remote scripts or take remote admin actions on a large number of devices.
